I haven't watched the whole thing (Deep Red), but I probably will this weekend. Really nice transfer....a step up from the DVD, but not the giant leap like other Blus. I think Inferno looks a little better. But I'm glad I got it, and the price was right

The Blue Underground Blu-ray is solid. It does a great job of capturing the "texture" (as I refer to it) of the grain. However, there's not alot more detail to be seen over the DVD. Mainly it just looks much more film-like and natural than the DVD. There are quite a few speckles & scratches throughout.

DiabolikDVD got in another 25 or so copies today, but posted on their Facebook page that they cost them more to get these...so the price raised to $24.99 now.

I kinda feel good now about getting mine for just $8 from Borders late last year.

    Damn...late to the party again.

Watched Deep Red the other night…another homerun for Blue Underground as far as I’m concerned. I also think because of this release it has increased my admiration of Deep Red more so and it now probably ranks as my favorite Argento flick. Deep Red is 100% Hitchcock on acid…just a fantastically clever thriller that shocks just as much as it entertains.

I noticed the strobing towards the end, but I found it to be less of a hindrance than SaxCatz makes it seem. I only slightly noticed it on a closeup of Martha…other than that I thought the transfer looked immaculate…especially the opening act. And the detail in the closeups of the doll, the trinkets on the desk, and the eyeball intensify the creepiness of these scenes.

Blue Underground is probably my favorite company releasing HD niche titles. Their releases may not be as flashy as Arrow’s, but the meat (transfers) of their releases are always damn near close to perfection.

This Fall is shaping up to have some amazing releases. Now if someone can just wake up the powers that be at Anchor Bay, we'd be in business. Thank God for Blue Underground. Mr. Lustig, you sir, are my hero.

Bird With the Crystal Plumage seems to be going for quite a bit on eBay. I was pissed that I never grabbed the BU blu-ray before it went OOP. It's not available in stores anymore either however, I remembered there being a copy of it at Sunrise Records a few months ago and sure enough, it was still on the shelf when I went in today. Last copy too. It was $29.99 but that still beats the $70 it's going for on eBay and amazon. Fuckin' score!

^ Not much of a sale, seems like the same prices that these have been at for awhile. Some of the comments on Blu-ray.com even state prices are up from a few weeks before.

I was just about to say the same thing. DVD Beaver is touting it as a sale on their home page but Blu-rays like Deep Red have been $14.99 since its release date.

    Edit:

Apparently Amazon were listening, because the've further reduced the prices of many of those now.

The prices aren't terrible, but they have definitely been lower. I remember nabbing The Prowler for about $14 from amazon a few months ago.

So question, does Anchor Bay still own the rights to Re-animator or does Blue Underground?

Because they are lazy as fuck these days and don´t seem to care about releasing cult movies anymore :(
