That is great news. They used a lot of that 80's filtered haze on it so transfers have always been a little lackluster using materials a few generations removed from the negative. Hopefully they can bring some of that finer details back and Lustig can keep his fat fingers the hell away from the DNR knobs.

I never re-ordered it after my sunk HorrorMovieEmpire.com order. But recently I'd be considering it. Now I'll hold off.

Love Dead and Buried. Even when I first got the BU dvd years back I noticed it was rather lacklustre. Rather grainey and whatnot. This I great news considering there was no way I was going to get the first blu that came out.

I wish BU would reissue Dead & Buried and replicate that cool tin foil packaging they used for the DVD release. I'm still using that packaging to this day after swapping the DVD for the BD. Film could use a fresh scan too.

It looked cool but I hate foil packaging. It's super prone to fingerprints and smudges and when I had that edition they'd paced the item sticker over the top of it so when I removed it all the glossy foil under came off. Super annoying.

Agreed. I absolutely hate specialty packaging of the flimsy variety. I'd rather have something that withstands daily wear and tear than something gimmicky you're afraid to touch.

As for Dead & Buried, it's an awesome movie, and I'll gladly upgrade if they can improve significantly upon it. Same goes for The Prowler and Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.

I love that tin foil packaging. I just kept the outer shrink wrap on. Still mint. Problem solved. I too plan to just keep a copy of the next blu release in the dvd packaging like elD already is doing.

I am glad that the audio for Death Line is good. I recall the dvd being a bit problematic. I'll watch it again before deciding on the blu. The reviews are stacking up well for this release.

Man, time freaking flies. I remember thinking Death Line's release date feeling like it was so far away. I'd actually forgotten about the Blu-ray until I received my shipping notification from Amazon yesterday. Looking forward to this!

The Blood of Fu Manchu/Castle of Fu Manchu Blu-ray double feature dropped down to $10.45 at Amazon.

Checked out Dead and Buried again the other day and will be passing on any new releases. I feel like once you know the mystery that's going on it just isn't quite as good on re-watches.

Oh man, this movie has such an incredible atmosphere. There's way more to it than just the mystery in my opinion. It's such a creepy movie.

It's been a little while for me, but as I recall it's not until the reveal that the movie picks up steam. So knowing the mystery wouldn't ruin the movie to my mind.

It definitely has a cool atmosphere and some great effects but I think it's still mainly a mystery.
Knowing the mortician is bringing all these people back just lessens the impact of the whole ride for me. I will admit that I'd forgotten the cop was also dead so at least that came as a surprise. It also just felt a little silly with no real rhyme or reason to how these people were able to be re-animated.
That was also a problem for me as I found it a little boring, especially already knowing what was going on.

I totally forgot BU is releasing Deathdream. Thinking maybe I should sell my German BD.
