Blu-ray.com reviews Amsterdamned: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Amsterdamned-Blu-ray/165405/#Review
Pretty scathing review from Blu-Ray.com. I wonder if BU is going to run a replacement program for this, too.
Yeah, I could see the artifacts in the Mondo Digital screenshots.
Whoever are doing the compression/encoding for the latest BU discs, needs to be fired.
Where the hell is the quality control?
BU never had this problem on their older releases.
Seems like the director, Dick Maas, is aware of the problem now, and are looking into it.
"It will be fixed.
Let's hope they check the The Lift blu-ray as well, before release.
Amsterdamned Blu-ray Replacement Announcement
U.S. label Blue Underground has issued an official announcement addressing their Blu-ray release of Dick Maas' thriller Amsterdamned, which was recently restored in 2K under the director's supervision.
The official announcement from the label is below:
"After the Amsterdamned Blu-ray was shipped to customers, we were made aware of some minor compression issues. Therefore, we corrected and will be offering a replacement V2 Blu-ray disc.
If you purchased Amsterdamned and the Blu-ray Disc Art does not have Item# "BLU-BD-7072-V2" on it, you may request a replacement Blu-ray Disc by sending an email to AmsterdamnedBDreplacement@yahoo.com. You MUST include the following information in your email to qualify for a replacement disc:
Complete Mailing Address (including country if outside the U.S.)
Copy of sales receipt showing purchase of the AMSTERDAMNED Collector's Edition
The V2 Blu-ray Discs will be available to mail out in approximately 4 weeks. We thank you for your continued support and patience!
The Lift and Down Blu-ray releases have been slightly delayed to ensure they don't have the same issue."
Sorry if this is a dumb question but if I wait 4 weeks, will I get the corrected disc automatically through Amazon or will I still have to go through the replacement process?
You'll have to go through the replacement process with Blue Underground.
"We now have the final details on DEATHDREAM (aka DEAD OF NIGHT). The Deluxe Limited Edition of Bob Clark's critically-acclaimed zombie shocker will be unleashed on November 28th!
SOMETHING UNSPEAKABLE HAS COME HOME
In this shattering variation on “The Monkey’s Paw,” grief-stricken suburban parents (Academy Award® nominees John Marley of THE GODFATHER and Lynn Carlin of FACES) refuse to accept the news that their son Andy (Richard Backus) has been killed in Vietnam. But when A...ndy returns home soon after, something may be horribly wrong: Andy is alive and well… or is he? Produced and directed by Bob Clark (BLACK CHRISTMAS) and written by Alan Ormsby (DERANGED), DEATHDREAM was one of the very first films to confront the domestic ravages of the Vietnam War. More than forty years later, it remains one of the most chilling horror films of all time.
DEATHDREAM was released under several different titles, including DEAD OF NIGHT, THE NIGHT WALK and THE NIGHT ANDY CAME HOME, and marked the grisly debut of gore effects legend Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD). Blue Underground is proud to present this acclaimed zombie shocker in a new 2K restoration from the 35mm negative in its most complete version ever, along with original and brand-new Extras exclusive to this release!

I received my The Stendhal Syndrome replacement disc in the mail earlier, so they are definitely being sent out not.
Now I just hope the Amsterdamned replacement disc arrives soon!
Got my Stendhal replacement today too.
Got my replacement disc also Good to see that Blue Underground is stepping up and listening to the customers.
Does anyone notice a damn bit of difference between the versions? If so, point me to a scene where I'd see something.
Are you using your Blu-ray microscope to watch the film? Also, make sure you're sitting on your Blu-ray analyst's armchair - otherwise you won't find anything amiss
I'm thinking of picking up a copy of Amsterdamned and not bother about a replacement disc. I couldn't for the life of me find anything wrong with the Stendhal Syndrome disc. I just think people worry more about pixels than the actual movies. We've come a LONG way since the advent of the Laserdisc lol.
Still, requesting a replacement disc takes all of 5 minutes, so why not?
I received my Amsterdamned replacement disc today, so for those waiting, they are on the way.
