Bite your tongue
You can almost definitely blame that on the USPS. They've raised their international rates over the years to where that is probably pretty much what they would charge for two thick Arrow cases by 1st Class International mail.
Its bad, I was going to order Deep Space but the postage cost was too high and with the cost of the blu IT was going to work out at nearly 40 pound altogether to get it to the UK, to much for a blu ray.
Oh yeah for sure. It’s not even worth having something shipped from the US to CANADA via usps. It’s so ridiculously expensive it’s actually cheaper to import overseas.
I bit on this one. Zombie, Maniac, Dead or Alive trilogy, Evil Dead Trap 2 (it was 2 bucks!), and Heroin Busters (HIGHLY recommended Italo-crime flick starring David Hemmings, and featuring one of the best chase sequences I've ever seen).
Gotta save up now for the Vinegar Syndrome sale at the end of the month, since I blew my discretionary cash on this sale.
Wow. They shipped already. For some reason, I'd thought they said they weren't shipping till after the sale, which goes till the 30th. I didn't plan on getting them till December.

We just got our first look at the new 4K restoration of DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS and it's absolutely stunning! Scanned from the recently discovered original camera negative, with sumptuous color grading supervised and approved by Director Harry Kümel. All prior transfers were from 35mm prints, so this one is a truly significant upgrade. More news soon...
Awesome news! Funny enough I saw this for the first time this passed October and enjoyed it quite a lot.
Detailed screen comparisons are now up for The House by the Cemetery: https://caps-a-holic.com/c_list.php?c=5374
Wtf! They contrast boosted the hell out of the image. Look at the shots with a window, or the outside shots.
The details are blown out on the new transfer
Compare these two:
My disc should arrive next week, and I'll take a look at those scenes.
Except for the blown out details, it still looks like a solid transfer.
Yes, and even though the new transfer has a slight zoom in I'm not seeing much more detail. The colors of the original Blu-ray seem much more natural and have more range. A shot like this is always my go-to for comparing detail: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=13782&d2=13783&s1=139593&s2=139604&i=12&l=0&a=1
Which is unfortunate as I anticipate Blue Underground using these 4k masters for any future UHD. These are, once again, victims of work being done in Italy with techniques and equipment not up to the task.
It's interesting how the old Anchor Bay DVD, shows the most details in the brighter areas.
