Ok. Thank you.
just watched it........................for anyone who already has one of the other releases...................save your money
That's also the same runtime as the R4 DVD.
Yeah, it certainly doesn't sound like any kind of upgrade over the previous releases...
I don't have any of the previous releases. I think I'll wait for a better version.
So does anyone know if the Italian dvd that Diabolikdvd is selling is uncut or not?
Apparently, Body Count has been airing on an Italian TV network called Rai Movies.
Judging from the screencaps, this has to be the highest quality version available:
You'd think the DVD companies would just use the same source as the TV version?
I want this must have, will gladly pay for a rip of this!!
I just ordered the Italian DVD from Diabolikdvd. I'm hoping it's at least the uncut version.
I was poking around YouTube and found the trailer posted by Millennium Entertainment (formerly First Look Studios). I'm guessing this means they own the US rights?
I don't think they release many catalog titles though, mostly modern straight-to-DVD stuff.
Browsing their channel, it looks like they've also got trailers posted for Edge Of The Axe, Psycho Cop, Night Screams, and Whodunit (that's the title of my VHS, but most people know it as Island Of Blood and they have it listed on YouTube as Scared Alive) among others.
If they do own the rights, I'd love to see them enter a licensing deal with Scorpion, Synapse, Vinegar Syndrome, or Scream Factory to get these out there. Night Screams is the only one of these that was released on DVD in the US, and that disc could definitely be improved.
You can see on the previous page of this thread thread that is the same edition of the german DVD, so, uncut.
it's uncut, but nothing to write home about. I'm just glad it was cheap...
I just noticed this is currently available on Amazon Prime streaming via FilmRise.
I only watched the first few minutes, just to see the quality. Doesn't look terrible. Fullscreen, and probably the same DVD transfer. Certainly better than YouTube.
No idea if it's uncut, but running time is 1:23:29. There's a FilmRise logo at the beginning that probably accounts for a couple seconds.
Amazon Prime also has Ballad in Blood, a 2016 slasher movie by Deodato:
Thanks for the heads-up. I had been wanting to see this for years, but had a feeling it wasn't worth spending a single penny to do so. I was correct in my assumption! Well, maybe that's being a bit too harsh since it does provide a bit of entertainment value. Especially in comparison to Raiders of Atlantis (also currently available on Amazon Prime!), which I watched as the first half of my Deodato Christmas double feature yesterday.
