I got a confirmation it shipped the 5th. I placed the order (July 24th) the same day it went on sale. Not minutes after the release but that very day.

Must have been lucky. Tracking says it's waiting for me when I get home.

I got the shipping e-mail earlier this afternoon. Tracking says it'll be here on the 10th.

Release date is officially 8/13, so people are complaining about not getting something earlier then promised. This is not unlike the magnets people went ape shit over when they didn't receive something they couldn't even order; none the less pay for.

Don't get me wrong, hopefully everyone's will be shipped soon, but people can't even complain about something not shipping on time until after 8/13; none the less being "late."

People are complaining because they pre-ordered right when it went up for pre-order, and people who only ordered it days ago already have theirs in their hands. The release date means absolutely nothing when they already proclaimed "now shipping". They don't ship in the order they receive orders, plain and simple...which is bullshit.

See? Their order fulfillment system is bullshit. I ordered it within the first 5 minutes, and mine still has yet to be shipped.

In case anybody was interested, Body Double is no longer available on the site.

Other news from TT, Coming in December. (I would assume these are Blu's)

THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD (1973)
SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER (1977)

I just find TT bullshit in general. The one thing that really turned me off is when Christine sold out really fast and how they treated a customer on their FB page.

If many don't remember, the same time Christine was put up for pre-order - Horrorhound also did a cover story for Christine and made the TT release known. I am sure a lot of people may have picked up that Horrorhound, got excited that Christine was on blu and then realized it sold out in 8 hours.

Anyway, I was on their FB page and someone commented that they were disappointed that they didn't get Christine and felt that the scalpers made out and they should increase their limits. Their response?

I am sorry but if TT admit that people are complaining that they are upset that they can't buy more than 10 - then yes, they very much have a problem with scalpers. How many Christines have been put up on Amazon and ebay for exorbitant prices yet this customer is sorely mistaken. I don't know, how about - "Ryan, we are sorry you were unable to get a copy of Christine and we will look into increasing our limits on future titles." I know it might not be in vogue but I still admire customer service and treating your customer (or potential customer) with respect. The people that run TT are a bunch of assholes IMO.

Seems like an awful lot of hand wringing over being able to say "I got it earlier than that random stranger on the internet who got it early."

But TT reaps what they sow. They're more interested in crunching numbers than happy customers obviously. So they've got customer support like Ed and a "take it or leave it" system. If I wasn't so OCD I'd pass on all of it.

I have never purchased any Twilight Time releases, but am definitely interested in both of these if they are Blu-ray. I still regret missing out on Mysterious Island.

You're not even hearing what I'm saying. It's not even about that. I could really care less if somebody got it in the mail with a few days of me. It's the fact that their entire order fulfillment system is blatantly BULLSHIT

Mine is about two hours south of here and should be here tomorrow. Along with... ahem, Steel Magnolias. Don't judge.

I wonder if they are going to refund the people who per-ordered this? From what I have gathered all blu-ray copies have been shipped. There is no more available either hence Body Double removed from the site. Now I am left wondering OK what is next cause this is a huge fuck up!!

    "You'll have an investment, Marcus!"

Never have I seen a company with such an overbloated image of their own self worth. And people are willingly feeding into their ego, too. How gullible can you get? In my personal experience buying movies, music and comic books over close to 3 decades now, things don't become collector's items just because the company producing them says they are. In fact, doing so almost certainly ensures that they won't be once the initial hype blows over. In a couple of years, when the licenses revert back and a new edition is inevitably released, you'll be lucky if they warrant as much resale value as a typical Criterion.
