The only real thing Species has going for it is Natasha....So I'm voting Lifeforce because it's actually a good film.

I dig Lifeforce in all its over-the-top convoluted glory. Species is OK.

Lifeforce had 2 big big pluses............

But its also so much cheesier and over the top.

Species "suffered" as a 'genre' film because it was such a good film.........if you know what i mean..........

Species all the way. I thought Lifeforce was godawful.

That's a tough one. Gotta go with Lifeforce just because it was more spectacular and weird. But that babe in Species was hot.

Both naked chicks were lovely. Mathilda May was more naked but Natasha was naked more often. So that's kind of a draw.

However, Lifeforce was the superior film. Species could've been a better movie, but it fell into this sophomoric thing about the male fatherhood anxiety and tired saw that women only want babies and will do anything to trap men into knocking them up. (Waitaminnit... I know a lot of women who have done just that....) Beautiful, uninhibited actress and some cool Giger designs that could've been put to much better use.

Curious about the dates... Lifeforce in '85. Species in '95. Where was the hot naked chick sci-fi movie in 2005?

Lifeforce gets better after the first 45 or so minutes, which are 45 of the most torturously slow, boring, awful minutes I can remember suffering through in recent memory. Fuck- even when I complain about the majority of millennium movies, they at least aren't actually boring as pieces of filmmaking (I just hate their aesthetic and lack of legitimate horror). This was pure torture. But, holy (and I do indeed mean holy) shit, it does in fact get a little better.

    A little.

Species is... dumb and flavorless. But it's still not as boring as nearly half of Lifeforce.

Lifeforce. I never liked Species or any of its sequels.

Well, I own both films on blu-ray and am not overly fond of either one. I saw Species in the theater when it came out and didn't care for it then. Lifeforce is just so goofy, but Mathilda May puts it over the top for me.

I'm in the same boat. If I had to pick I'd go with Species as I didn't mind it when I was younger. I could never get into Lifeforce as it just seems to prod along and bore me.
