Creepy tales of terror. Which one do you prefer?
After Midnight for me, because it actually seems like it comes from the 80s, and I love the 80s.
I've never seen After Midnight and I thought FAWTAS was okay... I think I'll reserve the right to not vote.
Yet another two that I happily own. Well, I just watched After Midnight the other week again...and I do love it! However, it's lame indeed that the damn DVD back cover advertises it's 16x9 enhanced on the widescreen side, which is blatantly false.
I have yet to see either, but have had them on my wishlist since their release last year. I'll pick them up possibly during one of the DDD sales.
Coincidentally enough (or maybe not, eh Billy? ), I just watched After Midnight for the first time in years last night. I still enjoyed it quite a bit, though the first and third stories are admittedly a bit on the weak side. The second story and the wraparound story rule though.
I voted for From a Whisper to a Scream (or my preferred title, The Offspring) because I enjoy the hell out of almost all of it's stories. I'm definitely a fan of both films though.
Who can say "No" to Susan Tyrell and Vincent Price. Oddball casting decisions aside, I voted WHISPER because it had a few genuinely creepy moments.
The opening tale w/Clu Gallagher was godamn creepy!
from a whisper to a scream
From a Whisper to a Scream.
After Midnight is actually quite a bit of fun, but it's empty.
By contrast, Whisper/Offspring is more flawed but also a great deal more thought provoking, genuinely disturbing, nasty, gross, interesting, compelling. Etc. I have no idea why this director lost his touch so quickly after this film. He never grabbed for the gut again after this. He got so soft, so quickly.
From a Whisper to a Scream. Vincent Price ...I mean c'mon!!
