I tried that route, but the only Best Buy in my area that had the DVD at all was in San Francisco, so I didn't even bother calling to find out if it was the LE. SF is a bit too far away for a casual drive at lunch time.
I did finally receive a response from digitaldogpound. I was told that they would have a new shipment of CitB DVD's in a few days, and if they came across one with the lenticular cover, we would do an exchange. Otherwise, I was offered a refund. I'm going to wait and see if they get a LE copy in. If not, I'll just get my refund and find a more reliable source...
Thanks for the word. I still hadn't heard a thing back. Looking like they don't have any copies with the 3-D cover right now at all. That sucks, it was even in the title!! I don't know if I'll keep searching, probably not.
where the hell is this in stores? my credit cards having issues, so i cant just order it online for the moment.
If you have a Hastings store, I've seen it there with the lenticular cover. Best Buy stocks it at select stores.
My copy finally arrived from Deep Discount. Not surprisingly, non-lenticular. Ah well, looks like a good disc in any case. I'll just chalk it up as a learning experience to not fall for Grindhouse's deceptive marketing techniques again.
God DAMN it! To make matters worse, the stupid slick was sticking out the top of the stupid keepcase and that stupid security tape ripped a stupid chunk off the top of the stupid artwork!
Man I hate it when that shit happens. For some reason I decided I needed to take that tape off my Dead & Buried special edition and peeled a whole heap of foil off. I wasn't happy.
The folks at digitaldogpound have been apologetic, but I'm not getting my hopes up that I'll get the collectible edition through them. Several people ordered theirs from Ebay before me, so it just seems statistically unlikely that the next batch of DVD's they receive will have enough LE versions to go around. I suppose if none of them complain about receiving the standard edition, I'll have a good chance.
I've actually returned DVDs because of this before. Unless I can repair it with a marker. Otherwise, it goes back to the store "defective". I can't have my DVDs with ripped artwork and such...it's just not kosher.
You know, if it wasn't for the added complications and expense of international shipping I'd be mighty tempted to do that. But I've already spent too much on this pig in a poke.
Yeah, I'm surprised that would work. I'm pretty sure the shopkeep would look at me like I was crazy and tell me to get the hell outta here.
