While not a horror film, most people would say it is pretty horrific, and that film we watch is John Water's Female Trouble, with Dawn Davenport played by Divine destroying her family's Christmas 'cause she didn't get her cha cha heels. Her mother winds up pinned under the tree, and she flees the house only to get knocked by the side of the road while hitching on Christmas Day (Divine also plays both the male and female characters in that scene, so it is a sex scene of Divine and Divine!) Last year the Movie Morlocks on TCM had it on their "Alternative Christmas" list (color me shocked).

While I have several traditional Christmas movies I watch every year (White Christmas, Scrooge, A Christmas Story) along with the Horror Classic Black Christmas, my weird annual Christmas movie is Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut. That movie is so hypnotizing and unsettling and bizarre, I look forward to it every year.

I wait for the first snow of the season and then pop in The Thing.

Night of The Comet was kind of a Christmas movie, so I'll go with that.

Whom ever wins will have to tell the rest of us the 'Mystery of the Prize"

Definitely Gremlins, which I recently revisited. Turns so many holiday traditions on their head.

But thanks to this thread, I now have to check out Elves.

I like The thing. The thing is a kind of Santa from outer space, right?

Black Christmas and Silent Night Deadly Night for me. I never miss these two around the holidays.

Really enjoyed my marathon last Xmas of all of the Silent Night, Deadly Night films. But I must say nothing brings out the Yuletide cheer like the first!

Black Christmas and Home for the Holidays for me. As much as I love the cast and atmosphere in Home for the Holidays, this is one that I think could work as a remake if done right, setting the film in New England during a snowstorm instead of California during a rainstorm.

I have to admit that the obvious choice IS Black Christmas and it is a lot of fun to watch at this time of year. Dead of Winter comes in a close second and I always dig out New Years Evil for some retro fun. Pinky Tuscadero never looked so good.

Obvious choice for me - Black Christmas. One of my favorite movies and in my opinion one of the scariest movies out there. I might've watched Gremlins in the next couple of days but I watched it within the last month or so.

It's a tradition in my household to watch The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. I've been watching it nearly every year since my childhood.

My family and I have "Commando Christmas" were we all watch Commando and drink ourselves silly. The movie has nothing to do with the holiday's obviously, but it brings us together and it's our tradition.
