Yes... The Blue Underground version seems a lot better than the one from Arrow.
That?s strange because both Arrow and Blue Underground say that the print is the same because it was co-produced by both companies.

Also... The extras from Blue-Underground are very light in comparison with the ones from Arrow...

They did use the same master IIRC. Basically they should be the same.
Perhaps it's the way these screenshots are made. It has been an issue in the past.

I took a better look at some of the Beaver shots (teehee...I just HAD to make that joke ;)) and noticed that it doen't look really good at all to me. Trust me, I don;'t know much about Blu, but this doesn't look as good as many other BR releases out there. I don't know how you'd call this but there no detail at all in this picture. Look at the boy's hair, it's one smeary mess. But, as I said before, it could well be the way the shots are made. DVDBeaver seems to be notorious for that (I heard) :

The BU transfer looks significantly better. This is a shame seeing as the Arrow package is so great in every other way. It's also odd as the transfer is supposedly meant to be the same.

Maybe is really a problem with the screenshots because some other reviewers that already have the Arrow review disk say that the transfer is spectacular.

Guess we need more reviews from both of them...

For me is not a big problem beacause I?m going for the DVD...

You may have hit on it right there.
It's possible that they were both created from the same transfer, but the BU release opted to "go light" on the extras in favor of a higher bit-rate for the feature and that could be the reason for the potential difference in PQ between the two releases.

If that?s the case, the blu-ray owner will have a "multi-region" 2 disk blu-ray edition...
Disk 1 from Blue Underground and disk 2 from Arrow...

Maybe that?s what they?ll do anyway.

I will be buying both versions of this on Blu. As someone said before you could never have enough copies of this film.

The new issue of Horrorhound features City on the cover and has a great retrospective on it. It's a great read, can't wait to pick up the new disc.

Looks like the BU version looks alittle better then the Arrow to me. The BU skin tones are alot more realistic.

There's a nice little retrospective in the latest issue of Fangoria as well. There's a 3 page interview with Giovanni Lombardo Radice, plus a 2 page spread of "Fulci's Grossest Hits".

If you?re looking for good extras, Arrow is the best option.
And all but one are in HD.

Although the BU release does appear to have the edge with colors, the Arrow transfer looks great as well. I'm going with the Arrow release for the kick ass extras.

Going through the BU Blu-ray now - what a nice package. It's good to finally see a new Blue Underground release that isn't just an HD port of their old work. It gives some hope that they'll maybe start releasing more new titles. And hey, they even have still galleries intact again!
