Thought this would be a good place to list any showings of classic horror films happening throughout the great month of October.

Here in Seattle at the awesome Grand Illusion Cinema they will be doing their 6th annual All Monsters Attack! horror festival. They will be showing:

    Possession (1981) Uncut
    John Carpenter's The Thing
    Without Warning
    The Evil Dead
The American Scream (new film from the director of Best Worst Movie)
    The Magic Sword (1962)
    The Raven (1963)
    The Comedy of Terrors
    Arsenic and Old Lace
The Phantom of the Opera (1943)
    The Burning
    Jack the Giant Killer (1962)
Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires
    The Deadly Spawn
    People Who Own the Dark

The best part is that every film, with the exception of The American Scream, will be shown on 35MM for a true theatrical experience. For more info head over to The Grand Illusion's website.

I actually saw Evil Dead 2 on the big screen here last weekend. The local arthouse theater has a Friday Night program where they screen "cult" films for $3. Usually it's stuff like Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, but this October they are doing horror films.

Think I'll mention this for Portland, OR area residence:

Sounds like fun. I went to their HP festival a few years ago and it was really great. Wish I could go even to this mini-event.

The drive-in at Georgetown, IN is playing Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) with Meatcleaver Massacre this weekend. I've never heard of the second movie. Any good? Unfortunately can't make it to the showing, but figured I'd pass it along.

I just came back from the Dracula/Frankenstein Double feature. Both films looked amazing, all cleaned up and looking as if they would back in 1931. It was really like watching them again for the first time. I highly encourage those in Canada to catch up to one of the the remaining screenings.
