Easiest answer ever: Black Christmas, is my fav. movie, so didn't have to think much about it.
The Gate! Actually it is one of my childhood favorites. From the metal record to the sweet stop motion animation this film is great. Plus the fact that the leads were all kids put it over the top for me as a kid.
Totally has to be My Bloody Valentine! I know that's probably a popular answer but I LOVE that movie! Everything about it is Canadian AND 1981, two of my favorite slasher ingredients!
Curtains comes close though...
I would have to say My Bloody Valentine, since it is one of my favorite slashers and a film I've always loved!
As much as I love both Black Christmas and My Bloody Valentine, I'm gonna go with David Cronenberg's The Brood on this one. It's the only movie out of those three that I've owned on VHS, LD and DVD (and BD, if they ever release it). It's probably my favorite Cronenberg movie.
I've got to go with Ginger Snaps. Something about that movie has made me revisit it time and time again.
I have to say The Gate just for the memories it brings... It's one of the first movies that truly got me into the genre. I remember being 11 or 12 watching it many times while babysitting my sister late in the evening. And I could totally relate to the main caracter, mainly because we were pretty much the same age.
Lmao, this film brings back such fun memories. I was around 5 or 7 when this came on tv one night. And everyone one in the house wound up watching it. I watched it with my mom in the living room, and my dad and sister watched it in my dads bedroom. It scared the hell out of me at the time, my mom was laughing through out the whole thing, and my dad thought it was retarted. My sister kept falling asleep throughout the whole thing. But we watch it all the time during Halloween or when it comes on Encore. Now we can watch it anytime!!!!
Seem to recall catching this on Scream TV about 2 months ago. Sort of silly, the parts I saw (caught the beginning of Part II as well) reminded me of kid horror, but I still soooo want this.
Note: I will win!
I can't decide which Cronenberg to go with so I'm going to pick Black Christmas instead. Those phone calls make it. I've been working on my "It's me, Billy" telephone voice a lot lately to annoy my girlfriend.
My favorite would have to be Black Christmas. From the creepy phone calls to the great underrated and understated sound effects. Children singing innocent Christmas carols, the subtle sounds of clocks and piano strings all serve to amplify a chilling atmosphere. Not to mention a wonderfully perfect ambiguous ending. It's in the top ten horror flicks ever made as far as i'm concerned.
Black Christmas: My favorite slasher
My bloody Valentine: Awesome atmosphere, and now with the DC; gore as well.
Rituals: Super creepy antagonist...
Those are my top three Couldn't pick just one.
Thanks for all the submissions, it was nice to hear everyone's picks from my homeland. Random.org tells me that the winners are:

Horay! Means three more chances for little ole' moi. The month of October, especially here at this site, totally fuckin' rocks.
And conrats to all three winners! Unless there is an announcement for a Blu-Ray release in HD, I'll probably have to break down and order The gate special edition from Amazon now.
Again congrads to all winners, and to me and my fellow losers: Better luck next time, boys & ghouls.
Congrats to the winners!
