It has to be The Shining...Kubrick version only. It has a chilling atmosphere throughout and I actually feel a bit of cabin fever coming on every time I watch it. I also really enjoyed Cold Prey from a few years back, and I really really like any demented Santa flicks and BOTH versions of Black Xmas
Hands down the shining! Also the thing but I'm not clear whether or not it is winter in that movie at the time.
It was close, but Silent Night Deadly Night gets the nudge over Black Christmas. SNDN has the nostalgia and memories from my teenage years and I enjoy watching it every December.
Dead of Winter with Mary Steenburgen and Roddy McDowell. Great locales and cast, It is a great film. The original Black Christmas is a great film too.
Hate to be unoriginal, but I have to agree with the masses. The Thing is the most awesome winter horror movie ever!
Maybe not better than The Thing or The Shining, but I always thought Ravenous did a good job with the snowbound locale. The whole donner party situation i find to be really creepy.
