Dellamorte Dellamore (AKA Cemetery Man). Because it's awesome, that's why!

Amando de Ossorio's Tombs of the Blind Dead for me. Anytime the horsemen are on screen is just bad ass.

I am honestly not a huge fan of Italian horror, but I did enjoy Anthropophagus (which I think fits in this category). I enjoyed the atmosphere and the locations. Not the best of make-up effects on the grim reaper, but still a fun movie.

I would probably go with Stagefright, with the Blind Dead series, A Blade in the Dark, Demons, and Pieces right behind.

Dellamorte Dellamore. Though Cannibal Holocaust is close.

Cemetery Man (1994) aka "Dellamorte Dellamore," this is one of the movies that got me into the Italian horror cinema. A poetic movie, creative, and well-done and not to mention, the hot Anna Falchi!

Sergio Martino's Slave of the Cannibal God AKA Mountain of the Cannibal God. It just seemed like a grittier, more horrific take on the Indiana Jones type of adventure. I saw it at a young age and the copious gore as well as Ursula Andress' gratuitous nude scenes left a huge impression.

Agreed on Cemetery Man for its tone and overall narrative world-building. I wish there were more stories in that universe (outside of the great comics)!

    Enjoyed Torso, too.

I was going to say "Your vice.." but it has to be Cannibal Holocaust
You can't watch that film and not be affected by it one way or another.

Cemetary Man, AKA Dellamorte Dellamore by far! I LOVE this film!

I also have to go with Burial Ground. Great trashy fun.

The Blind Dead films and de Ossorio are SPANISH. I'm not sure why they're being discussed here.

Sergio Martino's The Great Alligator (1979) aka The Big Alligator River. Actually there would be a lot of Martino films I could choose from but I'd go with Alligator because 1: Giant Alligator God!!! 2. Barbara Bach 3. the ending is pure awesome!!

Andrea Bianchi's Burial Ground - so fun on so many levels. I don't think I need to explain

Joe D'Amato's Beyond the Darkness gets an honorable mention :)

I was going to point that out too. Great films, but not Italian.

I think my choice would be Cannibal Holocaust, like many others here. It's an incredibly powerful film, and I especially love the score. On another day, I might go with Soavi's The Church. The cinematography and set design are amazing - it's definitely my favorite Soavi film.

I find Pieces quite enjoyable for it's goofiness, gore and cool chainsaw scenes.

Malabimba the Malicious Whore is a personal guilty pleasure of mine. It's a lurid supernatural thriller with nunsploitation elements and a lot of atmosphere. Slow moving with acting out of a soap opera it's surprisingly captivating and the premise of a mother possessing a daughter to revenge the pettiness in mother's life is rich with incestuous overtones. It sounds like over the top filth, but maybe that's why it's so captivating.

Demons, as it is an all time favorite of mine. Bobby Rhode's Tony the Pimp character is so much fun, great soundtrack ,cool plot, and very cool practical effects as well. Definitely going to watch a pairing of this and The Church in the coming weeks.
