I'm heading to the special (35mm print) screening of King's Maximum Overdrive tomorrow night at the Mayfair...Canada's version of the Alamo Drafthouse since 2009.

They've been making a lot of these interesting posters for the midnight screenings, evocative of the Drafthouse style.

Also, this will follow a screening of the recent rape-revenge film Sweet Karma with Playboy Playmate of the Month 2010 Shera Bechard. :sperm::banana::sperm:

Anybody else here heading there tomorrow night??:glasses:

I often go to Ottawa and had no idea about this theater or its screenings, thanks for letting me know. I'm going to be spending lots of time there in coming months looking at real estate so I will make it a point to check this place out.
The poster is really awesome as well.

Anthropophagus, the Mayfair has even shown Anthropophagus as a midnight film! This place absolutely rocks and they occasionally serve liqour (tonight they will) and have even had strippers perform.

I just noticed they're showing Sesame Street's Follow That Bird today, too as a kid's matinee. Even that lineup for kid shows is great.

Theatre is an actual historic site and has been around since the '30s. It closed for a few years and then re-opened in 2009 by Lee Gordon Demarbe, who is the director of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter and Smash Cut.

Some of the other stuff they've shown on the big screen just over the past three years. All in orginal prints!

    Death Wish 3
    Robotrix
    Cruising
    Screwballs
most of the Emanuelle and Emmanuelle films!
    Zapped!
    Spring Break
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
    Troll 2
    1941
    Sorcerer (Friedkin)
    Black Devil Doll
    The Evil Dead

and much more. :D This month still has some goodies coming up including:
    Time Bandits
    Army of Darkness
    American Graffitti
The Erotic Adventures of Zorro

I actually read up on the history of the place on the official website, very cool and an impressive list of films. We'll probably bump into each other there at some point.

Great poster! We've actually also started on the limited-edition poster bandwagon for the midnight screenings I curate at a local theatre in my city last year. We've just celebrated our 3rd Anniversary screening with "Demons" last weekend. Below is our hand silk-screened poster.

The green on the poster also glows in the dark! But back to the Mayfair, Lee and the rest of the theatre run a great programming schedule and I've screened quite a few of the same prints as we usually find out what each other is bringing in and exchange when available.

I love illustrated movie posters. Both of the above look tip-top.
