    It's always nice to see something like Straw Dogs make its way back into the collection. I think I paid quite a bundle for the dvd many years ago. And The Lodger! Awesome! Ugetsu as well....also a great film. I'll probably only pick up The Lodger, but that's a really solid slate of releases.

    Straw Dogs is one that I've been waiting a long time on. I never bothered to buy the MGM Blu-ray, figuring this would eventually happen. It just took far longer than I thought it would to actually materialize!

    I'm really happy they're finally re-issuing Straw Dogs. Wasn't the original release a limited edition? I'm getting this day 1. The current blu-ray has next to nothing on it.

    Hopefully they can add titles like Spartacus or Godard's Contempt back into the collection too. Contempt certainly needs a good remaster. The current blu-ray transfer was taken from a dated master. I'm sure Criterion would do a better job.

    I don't think it was limited or numbered quantities, but it was only available for a limited time, and I think it had a sticker on it alerting people to that fact when it was released.

    Yeah I remember seeing that when it first came out. However, it never went for a lot of money like most out of print Criterions. I guess they printed a lot of them.

    i know i paid about $50 for it maybe 7 or 8 years ago. at the time i felt like i got a good deal.

    Same with me. I bought it at Future Shop for 47.99. I still have the original plastic wrap that I keep it in and yes, there is a round silver sticker that says Available for a Limited Time Only.

    I just saw the 4K restoration at the local art house. It's bloody gorgeous. Can't wait to grab this disc.

    A shame Buscemi didn't participate in the extras for Ghost World. Is he one who doesn't do commentary or interviews for DVD/Blu releases?

    I don't know about that, but I know he wasn't happy making Ghost World. Not that he thought it was bad, he was just really uncomfortable playing a guy like Seymour. I'm not surprised he'd want to avoid doing commentary on it. (FWIW, I could TOTALLY see myself doing what Seymour did in that bar scene; geeking out about his passion rather than engaging the girl Enid set him up with, to the point of totally alienating her)

    Thanks, Paff. I didn't know that backstory. Ghost World is one of those movies I can watch any time it comes on and enjoy it. Totally agree about the scene in the bar - another reason I'm happily single! :D
