They must have caught on and just added that hitch tonight. I see that they added notices on all the Criterion pages saying: "Note: This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated."

I got in 2 orders using the 15% off codes, so they worked as of July 13th at 3:57PM.

Can't put enough emphasis on the Monsters and Madmen set that Rhett mentioned, that is fantastic, and one of my favorite criterions.

others that might be of interest to horror fans:

M - child murdering serial killer movie - if silence of the lambs interests you, this might too
The Most Dangerous Game - great movie, semi-companion piece to king kong
Jigoku - trippy japanese vision of hell

M is also available on blu-ray.

Polanski's Knife In The Water could fit the bill too.

The Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterion sale is back on!

Runs from now until July 30th.

For a little while, the 50% off sale overlapped with their B2G1 sale, so I nabbed:

    Rushmore
    Anatomy Of A Murder
    Harold And Maude

The B2G1 sale is now dead, so I'm glad I got my order in before it ended.

^ Just received shipping notification for my movies! At 50% off and B2G1, I'm surprised they didn't cancel it. I thought it might have been a glitch.

Ended up with three Criterion blu-rays at $14.12 a piece! :D

I'm debating it. There is only a few more that I want. Including Ugetsu but that has a R2 blu-ray out.

Just picked up the Criterion Two-Lane Blacktop DVD at B&N for $20 so expect a US blu-ray announcement any day now.

Put my order in earlier today for "Shallow Grave" and "Wages Of Fear," both on blu-ray.

went a little nuts. i was holding out hoping some coupon codes or something might show up online, but nothing did (Mikey Horror, i'm sure the coupons will show up in the same announcement as that blu ray - sounds like we have the same kind of luck ), so i ended up pulling the trigger. picked up the following BDs:

    The Phantom Carriage
    The Great Dictator
    The Samurai Trilogy
    Walkabout
    Beauty and the Beast
    Haxan (dvd)

Online coupons won't work on this sale. It says on every item page:

didn't see that. oh well, waiting didn't cost me anything. for some reason i felt like i'd been able to use a coupon last year. although, now that i think about it, i might have been confusing that with another sale. maybe deep discount...

Having just gone Blu, I feel as though I practiced incredible restraint by only picking up six:

    BEING JOHN MALKOVICH
    BLOW OUT
    BOTTLE ROCKET
    ISLAND OF LOST SOULS
    MERRY CHRISTMAS, MR. LAWRENCE
    SHALLOW GRAVE

    They allowed coupons last year.

Actually, for the first 3 hours of the sale this year, they had buy 2 get 1 free online. I nabbed Rushmore, Anatomy Of A Murder, and Harold & Maude for $40 + tax.

Anybody hear anything about future Blu ray releases for 'Blood for Dracula' and 'Flesh for Frankenstein'. I never upgraded from the old Criterion DVDs to the anamorphic Image releases, and it looks like the Dracula disc is already out of print. Just wondering if I should make a last minute upgrade or just wait until somebody puts 'em out on Blu.

BN are starting to crack down though. They recently even discontinued cashback links from ebates & fatwallet.
