I received this tuesday along with the bonus dvd and finished watching the first disc last night. Its fun to watch and nice to see some new people interview on camera. I agree with what others have said though Never Sleep Agains the better documentary. That just seemed to pull you in more and be more compelling and in depth on the making of the films.

Finished the doc last night. Why did Jeff Katz need to be in the documentary? he contributed nothing.
Anyway for me the chapters on Parts II and III were the best. Just got the bonus dvd to watch now and listen to the commentary.

Everyone seems unanimous about that Jeff Katz guy. Was he really an executive at New Line? I thought he just wrote fan-fiction comics or something?

I've been listening to the commentary on this. There's some great information on it they even mention this site and the uproar when CLM was announced as blu ray only plus the "Green" transfer on Friday Part VI: Jason Lives.

I wonder if netflix will eventually get this so I can watch it? I don't want to burn money on something I'll just watch once.

There's a 7 hour commentary as well, so you can watch it twice!

Have to completely agree with the Jeff Katz comments. I finally got around to seeing this this past weekend. Being a "know it all fan" doesn't belong on the crystal lake memories!

It was especially frustrating to see the Extended Interviews disc, where he should have belonged in the first place. It's annoying that they gave him so much air time while stories from legit people who were actually involved with the films ended up on the cutting room floor.

Yeah he really made me irk and grind my teeth a bit. I'll never understand why horror fans are suddenly on movie interviews.

Katz deserved to be on the FvJ segment, as he helped get it off the ground finally, but they should have cut him out of the rest of the segments. I couldn't care less about what he had to say on those parts.

The BD/DVD combo is now available at Walmart for $24.99. It's kind of surreal to see something like this for sale in a mainstream, lowest-common-denominator place like Walmart.

I haven't watched my copy yet, but that bonus disc better be worth the extra $20 I paid to get it directly from the website.

Just a fun random bit of Jason Lives trivia I thought I'd share.

I picked up Mill Creek's Complete Series set of the sitcom Wings not too long ago and have been working my way through it.

A few nights ago, while watching the season 5 episode "An Affair To Forget", they occasionally showed stock-footage of a cabin exterior (since the series itself was filmed in a studio) that looked very familiar.

Turns out it was the counselor's cabin from Friday The 13th: Jason Lives. In fact, it was the same footage from Jason Lives, since Paramount owns both Friday The 13th and Wings.

Nothing mind blowing, just fun. I submitted the info to IMDB.

Here's a pic from Friday The 13th: Jason Lives:

... and here's a pic I pulled off YouTube from the Wings episode "An Affair To Forget":

Worth mentioning, Little Darlings and the Michael J Fox made-for-TV movie Poison Ivy were filmed at the same camp. Here's the same cabin in Little Darlings:
