Have been equiped with 7:1 for three years now and have been waiting for a reason to convert to Blue. Looks like the time has come!
Thanks! I haven't upgraded any of my Argento DVDs like Stendahl or Plumage because I just figured I'd buy the BR discs next when I eventually have a player.
"Grain lovers will be in nirvana." Just what I wanted to hear. It seemed like Lustig was in the habit of pushing clean ups and restorations too far so I was worried that in HD he might go overboard. Glad to see that he's kept a level head.
In these shots you can clearly see BOTH film grain and digital noise. It is a good way for many to finally see the difference between the two. The film grain in BIRD (which was filmed with the 2P Technoscope system - check the net to understand why the grain in those films is THIS thick) actually stands out.
sounds very promising from the review...i hope BU keeps up the good work for blu-ray releases of the rest of their catalog
I never bothered upgrading any of the Argento DVDs like Crystal Plumage, Tenebre, and Phenomena. Now I'm extra glad because it will be that much less painful to only be double-dipping instead of triple-dipping when picking them up on Blu ray.
