I managed to snag the very last copy of this at my local WalMart last night. When did the regular population become so hip to Curtains?

Mine's in the mail but does anyone have any more screen grabs to post? Or side-by-side shots of it compared to the VHS copy?

My Walmart didn't have it. They only had the Road Trip to Hell edition - never heard of any of those flicks.

Based on the recent reviews in this thread it doesn't sound like I'm missing much!

I'm kind of glad that Walmart didn't have this in stock. It sounds like it's not even worth five bucks!

Well..damn it..you did..you just rained on my parade!!! Bastard!! . Actually, I 'm really glad I know this up front. If I find it for $5, I'll pick it up just to add it to my collection and hope that someone other than Mill Creek will release Curtains some day.

I'm confused. Some say the transfer is garbage and others say its a very slight step up - but not by much - from a VHS copy. My expectations are with the latter. Which one is it? Any one have screengrabs to share?

Let me see what I can do...I have a rip from VHS as well.

The first set of images are from the Echo Bridge DVD...the second is from my own DVD-R created from the original Vestron VHS...

As you can see, pretty shitty. I did these kind of small for space sake...here is a full size comparison so you can see the details...

No problem. Sorry the first time I tried to upload the images something went wrong. Just added a larger size version as well.

I don't know. Judging from those shots, the VHS actually looks better to me. Damn, I've never seen this movie so I was hoping the DVD would be the answer. Oh well, I shouldn't be spending money anyway.

I must have been royally screwed over in the DVD-R dept., cause the new DVD looks slightly better than my original copy.

If you've never seen or owned the film, it's worth the purchase, but that's about it.

This looks pretty crappy. I better hold on to my DVD-R as well.

Well I finally tracked this down and the transfer is awful. Why on earth can't this film get a decent release?

I didn't get a headache, but it was frustrating trying to see shit when it went too dark which was always. Throw in a bit of afternoon glare on the TV, and it wasn't a great experience.

Wow! I knew when I watched the dvd that the VHS probably looked better, didn't think it would be that much better. Hook me up that custom, I'd like to actually see this flick sometime!

I obtained a better quality version of Curtains this last week. I'm not sure where it came sourced from, but it looks about as good as a Laserdisc.

I'm glad now that I never messed with this release.

Mine supposedly is from the laserdisc release too. It has that same cropping though that springjack shows in an earlier post. Does yours?
