2 great films to not have theatrical releases.

Which did you enjoy (or liked) more and why?

    Dead Birds or Malevolence.

Dead Birds..very effective and suprising film.

I liked both but DB was the better of the two..I thought Malevolence was a bit too slow moving and tame.It could have used an injection of grue...

I liked Dead Birds, but I think it is insanely overrated - at least at the movie sites I visit. Of course, said sites don't usually mirror the average horror fan, so it is probably not very overrated at all. Regardless, it's a nice DTV movie, but a great new horror classic? Not likely.

Malevolence was a pretty fun throwback slasher, and I love slashers so... it gets my vote.

Not only did I really enjoy Dead Birds, but I was pretty bored with Malevolence. So the choice was easy for me.

I will say that I appreciated Malevolence a lot more after watching the "Making Of" Documentary on the DVD. Those guys went through a lot to make that movie and were very knowledgeable about the genre.

Dead Birds is a far better film, it was creepy as hell and I loved it. Malevolence was an entertaining surprise too, but not quite as well executed. So, I'll have to go with Dead Birds.

Dead Birds. When a horror movie is done right, it will scare you and make you uncomfortable. Dead Birds had that effect on me. The atmosphere, the setting, all kept me glued in suspense. Even after repeated viewings this movie still manages to get me. I think it's just brilliant and well executed.

It was a close call between Malevolence and Birds. Malevolence is just so well filmed too. It has lots of Hitchcock moments, Carpenter-inspired, and a beautiful (addicting) score. It was a tough choice between both of them. The edge goes to Dead Birds by a small margin for me.

I really don't know which one to go with here. I liked both quite a bit, but I think I'll revisit Malevolence a lot more often. The only part of Dead Birds that I catch myself revisiting is the opening sequence with "ultra-realistic" brutality and Malevolence is filled with that so I think I'll go with that.
