Actually those triple features and such of Death Wish 2-4 (and other Bronson flicks) that came out a year or so back were all in Widescreen.

Personally the cut version of DW2 isn't a deal breaker for me. Only the rape scenes are edited. And both of them are so unpleasant that I don't ever need to see them uncut again. The maid scene especially is really repugnant.

I'll miss the fence impaling that concludes the 2nd rape scene. But I won't miss the rest of the excised footage. AT ALL.

Regardless, it's ridiculous to release edited versions of films in this day and age. So I certainly understand people being upset and support those who choose to boycott edited releases. This is just one case where I don't place much value on the stuff that's missing.

How do you know it's the R Rated cut just by looking at the front cover???

I'd like to know the same thing. The front cover doesn't show anything about it being cut or uncut. :eek2:

Savini, you are absolutely dead right here. DW 3 is such cheese and most of the time makes no sense at all, but is pure entertainment nonetheless.

There are so many scenes that crack me up. My favorite though is towards the end when a gang of "creeps" grab at a pile of weapons and one guy picks up a plunger and proudly waves it around as if it's an instrument of death. My friends and I call him "plunger creep."

Bronson looks as if he hated every minute of making that movie, but god bless him and god bless Death Wish 3.

Fox/MGM sent out the official announcement on these today and the specs for Death Wish 2 show the rating as R. Bummer ...

Me too. The DVDs are good enough. Unless the DVD looks horrible, I need more incentive to upgrade. I have too many films on DVD already. I'm not upgrading my collection. Even when it is a film I really like.

I agree with the bunch of you. Part 3 is a blast, but it is on AMC in HD, so much and I have the DVD, so I don't need a copy on Blu.

There's still a slim hope that the cover is wrong, or someone thought the uncut was rated R. I wouldn't hold my breathe or bet on it, but there is a chance however minute it may be.

If it is cut, I'll stick with the pretty uncut anamorphic dvdr I got from trading here. If somehow uncut, I'd be all over it. Let's hope the early reviewers know of the uncut version and can say for sure either way.:)

    Not necessarily a bummer.

The DVD of MGM's Revenge of the Ninja also said Rated R and it's the full, uncut version.

    So, there is still hope.

As asinine as this may sound, if DW2 is cut I will pass on all three. If DW2 is uncut I will buy all three. My gut says it will be uncut.
