I got my original Deep Red order in the mail today. Still waiting on Battle Royale ... :nervous:
Wow, I was just going to post the same thing!! Mine came today as well and after looking at the invoice, it's the original shipment that shipped on 12/31!! I guess I'll be getting another one soon.
So is the uncensored english version a shorter version of the film? If so a must buy for me on DVD.
There's things I really love about this film but I felt the pacing was horrible and the scenes between the lead and the reporter were annoying.
Yes, the english version in cut on plot.
The gore is intact.
Deep Red is only classic in it´s original form.
Never saw that cut version.
I have to be honest but before I'd ever seen the film I thought Deep Red was about a killer doll, due to it's cover (which in Australia featured the wind-up doll). Boy was I wrong
It's still one of my favourite Argento films
I'm going to have to disagree. The movie has too much fat in its original form. I can't wait to see the english version.
You have the right to do so...
Deep Red is the perfect example of an Americanization of European Cinema.
Deep Red in it´s full form is the typical narrative of Italian Giallos of the 70s.
Many plot points, many suspense, both intercut by gore.
The English export version, cut by Argento himself, was made to the American Market, with less plot that´s equally balancedto the gore.
Be advised that there are some subplots cut that make this version a little incomplete.
You have the right to have your prefered version... It´s Deep Red.
Just keep one thing in mind... like all giallos... Deep Red is about something to be solved, a killer to find out.
I can say that every bit of the original version are clues to the viewer or interpretation of clues already found by the protagonists.
It´s a fun ride.
For me... bring me the full package.
I just love the corny dialogue and scenes that build up the violence.
Well, I received my second copy of Deep Red today. It shipped from Amazon UK on 2/2. Funny thing is, I'm still waiting on Amer that shipped out on 1/29.
How does the transfers of the Arrow and BU blu's compare? Got the BU version at home and it has ghosting around bright white's and slightly jumps in one or two spots.
