At one point or another almost every company has created a special sort of branding for a number of their similarly themed films. MGM's Midnight Movies, Warner's Twisted Terrors, Anchor Bay's Hammer collection...which one would you like to see brought back for this year's fall horror slate?

Midnight Movies, and it's not even close.

Of course, the "Euroshock" or "Giallo" collections weren't bad, either.

Anchor Bay's Giallo Collection were fantastic, too bad its no more...

Anchor Bay's Lucio Fulci Collection, Dario Argento Collection, and NoShame's Sergio Martino Collection were also brilliant.

Actually all of were of them were of high quality. :(

My first instinct was the Hammer Horror Collection by Anchor Bay because that was what got me into collecting VHS (and later DVD) to begin with, but nearly all of the good Hammers left to be released are owned or controlled by major studios. Not really sure what would be left for them to release. Do we really need more like Straight on Till Morning or Fear in the Night? I think not. So instead I opted for BCI's Spanish Horror Collection. A fantastic series dead before it's time. Of course, BCI is dead as well so if anyone brought the collection back it would have to be through another company.

Tie between Anchor Bay's Giallo Collection, MGM's Midnight Movies, Shriek Show's The Slasher Collection & Warner's Twisted Terrors.

I think almost all Fulci films have been released on DVD, and practically the same for Argento. Therefore, the Giallo Collection would be the one to bring out unseen treasures, like Iguana with the Tongue of Fire or Eye in the Labyrinth. :)

Midnight Movie DF's are awesome and cheap. Wonder why they disappeared. :(

'The Slasher Collection' showed promise with Girls Nite Out...then...it ended. :[ WTH? How does a collection become 1 film? I guess we could add 'Scream' to that list, but really, Hide and Go Shriek, among others rumored, would have been sweet to have.

Twisted Terrors would be great for Night School and other sweet films we know of to be in Warner's vaults. *sigh*

I went with Anchor Bay's hammer collection just because I want to watch all their monster films, but Anchor bay owns half of them and sadly they are OOP and selling for way more then I'm willing to spend. So yeah, I would love them to re-release their Hammer films such as Dracula: Prince of Darkness, Satanic Rites of Dracula, Abominable Snowman, Quatermass and the Pit, Quatermass 2, The Witches, ect. Also, weren't they all released with non-anamorphic transfers? That would be another reason to re-release the series.

The other ones that I would love to continue would be MGM's Midnite Movies as they have a lot of great movies that still need releases, and Anchor Bay's Giallo line, who's first set was really good and I'm pretty sure they had a second set that was rumored to come out but never did.

I have most of Lucio Fulci and Argento's films, so I don't care if they re-release them. Most of them have good enough editions as far as I'm concerned, and most have already been recently re-released and aren't hard to find.

One that isn't mentioned but I hope they continue is Vol. 3 of Mario Bava's films. It could include Blood and Black Lace (This is an amazing movie that desperately needs a better release!), Hatchet for the Honeymoon, The Whip and the Body, and I Vampiri.

    Anyways, great poll Rhett!

/\ that sounds like a porn movie title

Midnite Movies for sure, such a great series.

The WB Twisted Terrors box was REALLY cool, I wish there was another :(

It came out, just not in a boxed format, and not through AB. Anchor Bay's Giallo Collection was actually a Blue Underground collection. When Lustig jumped ship he took those titles with him. The Giallo Collection that BU later put out is what ultimately became of AB's Giallo Collection #2.

Giallo. Still SOOOOO many unreleased... as for Fulci, Argento etc. I feel like we have most if not all of the key titles available. If you pick up that Blood and Black Lace guide to Giallos you would just drool at all the gems not out yet.

Definitely MGM's Midnight Movies. They still have a ton of films in their vaults that are still unreleased on DVD, and would certainly qualify.

I love almost all of these lines, but I can think of more stuff that MGM owns the rights to that I would love to see released.

Lots of great choices, but one clearly stands out: the Midnite Movies from MGM. This series has brought us so many classics from Vincent Price, AIP, Amicus, and various exploitation vaults. Too many worthy unreleased pictures to call it quits. On a related note, I also miss MGM's Soul Cinema series too!

Would also love to see the BCI Spanish Horror/Naschy Collection resurrected. That series was far too short lived.

I'd also welcome the return of the Hammer Collection because I missed out on a bunch of them which currently remain OOP.

    Great poll, Rhett! :glasses:

I went with Midnite Movies as though I like the Giallo collection, thanks to Mya we will still see great films of that genre. However, the AIP and Cannon stuff can only be had through MGM, so that is why I think this is the one we need revived

The Midnite Movies collection for me. I own about 90% of the line (and that's a LOT of titles). There are many great films in that collection. Unfortunately, I see this line going the WB "from the vaults" route and producing DVDRs on demand rather than actual pressed discs.

As much as I love the Midnite Movies line, BCI's Spanish Horror series gets my vote. I have every release, and would absolutely have loved if more were released. At least we got 11 releases, which are more than we got from some of the other series mentioned.
