Man brought us some all time classics, and some all time stinkers, but was an icon. I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but I thought he had died like 10 years ago, so congrats on an even better run than I first thought!

His productions were certainly always entertaining, if not always "good" films.

    RIP, Dino D.
He made some interesting films, even if they weren't all 'good.'

I never, EVER, understood why he didn't go bankrupt years ago. Yeah, he had some phenomenal hits, but they were few in comparison to his misses. My lord, he must've made a pact with the devil somewhere along the way.

His studio did go bankrupt in the late 1980's, but quickly returned.

Not only did he made some Fellini's possible, not only did he produced some of those epic films that were magnified by my childhood's eyes, but he gave us Blue Velvet too. Man had balls. RIP.

I remember when Stephen King was interviewed by Cronenberg, they both shared De Laurentiis stories - King for Maximum Overdrive and I think Cronenberg for The Dead Zone. I agree with whoever said that seeing his name before a movie was always a good thing growing up. Whether the movie was good or bad, you knew that at least it wouldn't be boring. RIP.
