RIP Jonathan. A talented director on a major scale who grew out of the Corman stable.

Shame. Much older than I thought. Also directed the music video to one of my all time favorite song's, "Perfect Kiss" by New Order.

He obviously had a thing for Q Lazarus as well, which is cool by me.

Absolutely cannot believe this news. 73 is too damn young. And who even knew he was 73?

The curve of celebrity / famous people deaths is really starting to get up there into the 80's and 90's, culturally, now. I really don't like that at all.

Really sorry to read this. I watched Silence a few weeks ago, for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years...it's a phenomenal film. RIP.

I too recently watched Silence of the Lambs. Amazing film, but I can never decide whether I like Silence or Manhunt more.

Regardless, it's a shame we lost such a great talent. Demme's concert film Stop Making Sense with The Talking Heads is also essential viewing. This guy was so versatile as a filmmaker. RIP.

Strangely, even though he is widely
known for more popular works, I always first remember him from his role in The Incredible Melting Man.

So sad. The man was a huge influence on my teenage years, both cinematically and musically. I was off today and had a private film-fest of my favorites:

    SOMETHING WILD
    STOP MAKING SENSE
    MARRIED TO THE MOB
    SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

I only just saw Manhunter a year or two ago, so... One has the old familiarity and one is new and fresh to me.
