A second edition (green cover) of Caelum Vatnsdal's "They Came From Within: A History of Canadian Horror Cinema" just came out this past month. It's been a while since I read the first edition (red cover), so I picked up the new revised and updated edition and am looking forward to reading it again.

Yeah, it's out of stock right now at Barnes & Noble too. I seriously doubt it's gone OOP after only a little over a year after its release though. The distributor/publisher is probably just currently out or something.

Oh yeah? :eek1: Killing Spree by any chance? That's seriously one of my favorite movies. :D

Was in Barnes and Noble tonight and came across a book I haven't seen or heard of until now. It's called Pumpkin Cinema and is a reference guide of the best movies, shorts and television show episodes to watch on Halloween. I'm a Halloween nut so of course I bought it. Flipping through it real quick it looks pretty good, although one major nitpick I found right off the bat is that this book does an amazing job of covering a great amount of films to watch on Halloween, yet doesn't include an entry for The Lady in White? That bothered me, but other than that, it looks pretty thorough.

Just picked this up as well from our local book shop. There are a wealth of both obscure and popular titles in here and I love how it is divided up by genres.

Looks cool and reminds me a bit of Shock! Horror!, which I really enjoyed; might have to pick this one up.

According to the description on Amazon, "...this collection contains over 240 full-scale, complete video sleeves..." so I assume it's front and back, which is terrific news.

Yes, they are full color scans of both the front and the back covers and is divided up by genre. The genres are Action, Horror, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Kids and Thriller and is about 265 pages in length.

You had me sold on this but I could care less for kids, comedy, action and sci-fi. I'm pretty much gung ho horror and was hoping this was mostly horror. Going through 200+ pages of mixed genre really shit stains this book.

I ordered the special edition of Thrower's new Franco book. Good stuff. Will look good up there with all the other rarities.

If anyone can confirm how many pages are actually dedicated to horror I would appreciate it.

I preordered this item back in September of last year when the release date was slated for January. Let's see if it actually comes out next month or not.

Thank you for your help and kind courteous replies Micky. Still on the fence about buying this but might as well. Hopefully another volume is in the works as 51 horror covers won't suffice.

Doesn't that book mainly cover foreign releases? I'd rather have one that covers domestic companies. Looks like a nice book though.
