aaawh shit. I bought both Don't Go in the Woods and The Forest this past summer, but haven't watched either yet. This thread is hilarious. I can't wait to watch them now. Even if I end up hating them, I own some other films that many fellow horror hounds think are crap, like Jaws 3, but what the hell, I like it anyway. Maybe I will like these two slashers too!!

I'm a die-hard fan of Jaws 3. I actually own a rare original Australian one-sheet, where it was advertised under Jaws 3, not "Jaws 3-D". It's hilariously bad. I mean, not to the degree that Don't Go in the Woods is; I actually don't think I can watch it again. I don't have it in me, but Jaws 3 occasionally gets a spin.

Yo seriously, it's HORRIBLE. I would never recommend buying it, but it should be watched, just so one can see how TRULY horrible it is.

I love this flick! So much fun to watch, and always a good laugh! It's definitely one of my favorite 'bad' slashers.

    Peeeeeyuuu!

Yup this "film" is just about one of the worst things I've ever seen. Those that say 'Troll 2' is the worst film they've ever seen obviously haven't seen this dreck...

Then again, the fact that it's dreck is what makes it so appealing. Sort of. It works as a laugh-fest and a drinking game, that's about it.

....and I still bought it lol. If only to support Code Red.

Thats the truth! I had to have it and when I got it I wasn't too impressed, but it grew on me over time. :D

    ahh, the old topic...
DGITWA is one of my favourite "bad" movies, I can watch it hundreds of times! Code Red release is also one of the most valuable things in my col.
Unintentionally funny, bloody as hell and... contains the ugliest actress in the world Ms. Carolyn Braza ;)
"gimme the keys, gimme the keys, gimme the keys!" one of the best quotes! Dubbed by Jim Bryan himself!!!

i liked how in the first commentary track director Bryan compares a scene he shot to one in Touch of Evil - wouldn't want anyone to confuse those two now! and then in the second commentary the guys from cky talk about how this and Fanny & Alexander are their two favorite films. obviously joking, but still funny.

the funniest thing in the "group" commentary was during Cherry & Dick sequence, when Cherry couldn't manage how to close the door of the van properly. When the guy asks Mr. Bryan "was it in purpose?" "Bryan says "no it was unintentional", and guy responds "hahahaha, lol, rotlf, I knew it!!!!"

What's up with the Exploitation Cinema double release of this with The Forest? Same print as Code Red's? Amazon says Don't Go in the Woods is Widescreen? Sorry if this was already answered somewhere.

It's a diff. print. It is indeed widescreen. It has a disclamier stating that they had alot of emails from fans wishing for a widscreen release, so they released it as such, but unlike the crisp, clean print they used for the fullscreen release, the widscreen not only looks cramped, but digitized. Doesn't make much sense.

Not really, if you have the original releases. I missed out on 'The Forest' so That's why I picked it up, plus the price wasn''t too bad. I haven't seen the original print for 'The Forest', but it looked pretty good on this disc, a little washed out, but not too bad otherwise. Supposedly this double feature was released by Code Red still, so I assume the print was the same.

Still glad I bought it though.

Could we possibly have a little DVD comparison? Like, post some pictures of the DGITW/TF double feature, and then I can post ones of the single discs. We'd have out own little DVDBeaver moment, lol.
