While I'm not familiar with either of these Franco titles I'll still be buying. It's really nice to see some of these obscure movies get a chance on blu-ray.
Pre-ordered the Vol.2 set. Haven't seen either of these yet myself so looking forward to checking them out but now gotta patiently wait until these ship on October 3rd which is a ways away yet.
Not this time, but last time I ordered. I contacted them through Facebook and they jumped on it and corrected it so I could order. My order today went through quick. Not sure I made the "first 300" cut, but I hope so.
You should be one of the first 300 because I just put an order in and my order history shows what number you are and I'm #75
I pre-ordered the Franco Forgotten Films Volume 2 & got # 79. Here is a belated review from Blu-ray.com for Volume 1: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Jess-Francos-Forgotten-Films-Vol-1-Blu-ray/176537/#Review
It's selling as fast, if not slightly better, than Vol.1 I believe. Sure, for us Franco fans these are hot titles seeing as they haven't had North American releases but these are still very niche titles.
From Dorado's Facebook: I ordered my Eurocrime from Mondo Macabro and I believe Jared already stated that those orders would probably be delayed, but this doesn't sound as bad as I originally thought.
the reason they are slow sellers I believe is because they aren't on Amazon.com, everyone in the world these days pretty much orders their stuff from Amazon, if you're not selling your movies on Amazon, you're going to have low sales, compared to what you would have if your movies were on Amazon, just a fact.
Dorado does sell on Amazon eventually. But... This is, after all, an exclusive pre-releases. It gives people willing to throw them a few extra bucks a chance to do so, and get some perks out of it. A unique cover, a booklet, often a few extra DVDs. And in return they come out more ahead than they otherwise would (as least I hope so). And these Limited Editions would kinda sorta really cease to be exclusive pre-releases if they were placed on Amazon day and date. Don't 'cha think?
