Duccio Tessari's much looked after Giallo is now available on Spanish DVD (R2 PAL) with Spanish and ENGLISH audio option!
According to someone at DVDManiacs it also has Italian but I don't know that for sure.Letterboxed 1.85:1.
Don't know anything about the quality of this disc.
If I can find any more info I'll post it here.

Pity that one doesn't have an English option :(

Dvdgo indicates 1.85:1 for this spanish dvd...
While the italian dvd was 2:35...
I think I'll wait to hear more about this edition.

Another Duccio Tessari giallo, "La Morte Risale a Iera Sera" is coming out in Italy on Raro in December I think, with an english option... That I'm definitely getting...

I swear guys, Duccio Tessari's No Way Out is one of my favorite gangster film of all time.

It's brutal, barabaric, and has a powerful ending.

I really and whole heartly reccomend this disc.

The only current verison able is The Japanese disc.

    Please, check out this masterpiece.

He also made some great films with Alain Delon.
Among them, BIG GUNS, also with a great & tragic ending.

The site of the company who released this only indicates spanish & italian!
    "Mono (v.o. italiano, castellano)"
    See: http://www.mangafilms.es/esp/archivo/index.htm?id=2623
    dvdgo probably made a mistake...

I too am praying for a NoShame or a Blue Underground release (this would have been a better choice than some of their current giallo collection like "Seven Deaths..." or "The Girl with the Yellow Pyjama" but oh well...)

I tried to watch "Big Guns" when it was on TV not so long, but I fell asleep... I'd love a dvd of this...
I also remember watching Tessari's "Zorro" with Alain Delon too when I was a small kid, it bored me to death!

I heard Bloodstained Butterfly, turns into some political thriller.

    Is this statement true?

I don't want to it to turn into something like the Dead Zone or the Manchurian Candidate.

Here's my report on the BLOODSTAINED BUTTERFLY DVD.....

This has always been a favorite giallo of mine. Heavy on police procedure and light on the violence, it is nonetheless completely engaging. The jazzy-smooth score compliments the film nicely.

The DVD is definitely 2.35, NOT 1.85 as the package suggests. There is light speckling and some lines on the print, but not too bad. Picture is sharp and colors are vibrant. I felt like I was seeing it for the first time again.
I had no problem turning off the subtitles.

    Here's some problems.....

At around the 30 minute mark the audio cuts in volume. I had to turn up my stereo. The DVD is presented in mono and sounds OK at best. At the 1 hour mark the volume snaps back and I had to lower my stereo. This was mildly irritating.
At about the 1 hour 9 minute mark i noticed a strange cut. I got my old Luminous VHS and compared. there is some footage missing on the DVD!
A woman is walking in the park. A hand comes out and covers her mouth. Flash of a switchblade and CUT to a character nervously drinking coffee.
On the VHS the switchblade cuts to a shot of a newspaper headline and slowly snakes around the coffee pot, which is poured.
not essential footage, but you will notice the cut.
I'm not sure if any other shots are missing.

the running time listed on the DVD is 92 min. actual time in PAL is 89 and a half minutes.

    My final thoughts...

If you are like me and must have every giallo on DVD right away, and you are a fan of THE BLOODSTAINED BUTTERFLY, then I recommend this DVD. you will be amazed at the improvement in picture quality from any previous bootleg. It's likely this will surface on region 1 DVD someday, so if you are just a casual giallo fan, then I would wait. This is not what I would call the definitive release.

For now I am happy to have seen it again in this quality and I'm satisfied with this Spanish DVD from Manga.

I'll wait for a better release.I love Gialli, good and bad.But I can't afford double (or even triple) dipping on all of them.
Is there anywhere on the web a comparison between the Medusa disc and this one?
Does the Medusa disc have those cuts?
