    What county would this be?

Anyway, I just saw it today, and other than the BABY someone brought in (a bitching that could be a whole thread if you ask me hehe), I thought it was great. I was really impressed and really sad that it wasn't getting the promotion it deserved. I think it's made it's money back, but studios look for profits, so who knows. We need more movies like this!!

I just saw this movie and I enjoyed it. My question is, what is the runtime? IMDB states that it's 84min, but 95min in the USA. I live in Canada and I thought that the movie was under 90min. Are there a lot of cuts or did IMDB screw up?

I downloaded it finally and I liked it a lot. Fast, action packed, fun characters, it was all good. I am all over this dvd when it comes out.

Sometimes, the speeds of the flick are different (NTSC and PAL have different running times but aren't different)

I doubt the speed would make that much of a difference though.

actually yes it would, Thi is a rough approximation for every 20 mins pal you lose 1 minute so if you have a 120 min film ntsc youd have a 116 min film pal. This applies to video only as cinema remains the same

I'[ve already read that, but I mean is it that friggin noticable. I mean does it make the film that much different? I need to get an R2 dvd, this is getting to me now.

It depends. Some people notice, some don't. It's not so much in the visual, but in the audio. Since the film is being run 4% faster, the audio becomes slightly higher pitched. Certain people tend to notice this more than others.

I have the HK Twin Peaks pilot, which is an NTSC DVD converted from a PAL master, and I can notice the music and voices being a bit off. In some places, the music just doesn't quite sound right, and Agent Cooper's voice sounds a bit "nasal" at times.

Whoa, Wrong Turn opens in Australia this Thursday.

And guess what... I won a free in-season double pass to the film from TerrorAustralis! FUCKING AWESOME!

Hm, not sure I didn't comment on this one the first time I saw it a year or so ago....

Anyway, a rewatch tonight (my first movie of 2007), brings me back to the topic at hand.

Who couldn't like this film? Sure it's a tried and tested formula - much of our beloved genre is - but when it's done this well, with this much panache, I say what the hell. I'm beginning to feel sorry for people who are always looking for something new in their films. Sometimes we simply have to sit back and enjoy what we like one more time.

Yes the characters are basically caricatures. Yes the plot isn't original. Yes you can see what's coming. Hey, I like back-water films, I like slashers, and i like to wallow in the familiar sometimes.

Nothing stands out in this film - and everything does. It's by the numbers without insulting you. It's earnest, honest, and fun horror fare. Just go with it.

Wrong Turn is a movie I always like to re-visit at least once a year. It's a fun and bloody good movie.
