Hopefully we'll be seeing these on Blu-ray very shortly, with Classic Media picking up the slack?

I would get all the films on blu-ray in an instant. By the way, any of you Godzilla fans would be doing yourself a disservice if you passed up on Far East Monster's "Destroy All Monsters" diorama. The first 2 figures have been released and I got them both. These are serious high quality items and kick major ass! These are being made in limited quantities so if you miss out now I'd expect these to only increase in value later. No I don't work for them, I'm just loving these and giving you a heads up before it is too late.

I doubt these will ever show up over here. Classic Media's having a really hard time selling STANDARD DVDs, let alone anything on Blu Ray (which is obviously a much smaller market).

    Such a bummer :(

Although the Godzilla films are unlikely to go Blu-Ray in America anytime soon, there's always a chance that when Toho releases them Blu in Japan they'll reconsider their policy against including English language subtitles and the international dubs they produced back in the day. Possible, if still unlikely.

This is not that unlikely since Japan BluRay releases are region A just like all North American BluRay releases. What we might see is more English friendly Japanese releases since we share the same region. Also by sharing the same region it would make more sense for Japanese studios to release their own films instead of licensing them out to U.S. companies.

Yes, that was what I was thinking. Toho versions always have TONS of extras that never make it here. We will just have to get ready to pay twice as much per movie. I already have all the DVD versions but I will be willing to double dip for these!

This is exactly what it would take to get me to buy a BR player. I'm drooling at the thought of watching Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla in crystal clear HD.
