Just been reported on BBC news, He was 95.

Really sad about his as I loved his work in so many different roles, Many Westerns like The Wild Bunch and Hannie Caulder and of course Escape From New York, Emperor Of The North right through to Airwolf.

Rest in peace big guy and thanks for the memories :(

    Wow, R.I.P. :(

He had a great life at 95 though. He and Kirk Douglas just seemed to keep on going and going...

    95? Damn! Good for him.

I love him as Rogo in The Poseidon Adventure. But the Wild Bunch, the Dirty Dozen, and Escape from New York...damn, what a great actor.

My first introduction to him, though, was as Manny the doorman in Jonathan Silverman's The Single Guy sitcom.

I was surprised to see him as late as 1997 in GATTACA. But that wasn't his last appearance on screen as I discovered. He was as healthy as a horse until the end- RIP.
