I will pass on this as well, opt for Just Before Dawn instead.
Now that would rule.
Indeed, and HVD discs and manufacturing technology already exist in Japan. Even Sony has become involved. Suddenly Blue-Ray seems like it may just be a protoype for Ultra-Blue-Ray. :blabla:
I meant "high-definition" DVD. Blu-ray is still DVD, and it's high def, so there you go.
It is, but HD-DVD was the name of a specific format at one point.
I like Anchor Bay as a company, but the reissues of the Evil Dead (especially the different cover variations on the original film) have gotten out of control. Here comes another version of Evil Dead 2 with more extras (which I hope will justify me buying this yet again). But, even with everything released, think about all that they have left to put out... let's see- boxed set of all three films... within the woods... Army of Darkness japanese version, Army of Darkness syndicated television version... I'm sure there's more too. Oh yeah, special editions promoting Evil Dead 4 and the reamke when they are released. There's a lot more to come, I have a feeling. And as long as we keep buying them, there will be more. :fucked:
I know it was, but I wasn't intending to be so technical.
This is tempting enough that I'll go ahead and do the upgrade. It'll make a nice companion piece to the other book and since EDII is one of the best horror films ever, I kind of have to buy this. I just hope they include some of the infamous deleted scenes on this release.
at one point?

And there are articles like this.
That article is outdated. HD-DVD is not dead just yet.

I will most definitely buy ED 2 BOTD DVD, even though I already own # 22 out of 50,000 on the tin.
I wonder who has #1 of the tin?
Damn I own 2 Book of the Dead's (the first one got a boo boo) And I own Evil Dead 2 tin number 44,824, and I will be getting this new Book also.
Just to let ya'll know, DDD.com has this up for pre-order...and cheaper than the other BOTD too if I recall:
Now, reading the brief special features list...is it the same DVD as the one in the tin except its in the cool casing? It sure seems like it. Haven't seen my ED2: Tin in a while.
It has the original commentary and the original making-of. But it also has a lot more and a new documentary, plus Tom Sullivan's unrivaled brilliance in gruesome artistic beauty. And for 20 bucks, I'm sure I can upgrade from my Collector's Edition VHS (which, as a side-note, has better picture than the current DVD, if I'm not mistaken). Plus, they say the commentary is easily one of the best ever recorded, and I never got a chance to hear it, so it's alright with me if they recycle it.
Even though I have both the Tin (#31116) and the normal release, I'll still probably end up getting this. I'm a sucker for cool packaging.
Is this one going to stink as bad as the last BOTD?
You thought it was stinky? I thought it was a nice plasticy smell...kinda like that feeling I had int he 80s with brand new toys! I sniffed up my BOTD & even got a little light headed! What a fargin' RUSH!
To quote a line from the movie Boomerang: "It stinks so good!"
