    SAY WHA

Hoo boy. This would have to go to Showtime, HBO, or somewhere that is comfortable showing gore, right? RIGHT?

It's not going to happen. Not because of content or anything, it's just not.

How many times do they announce stuff like this, and it never comes to fruition? I wish they'd just stop announcing stuff until the camera's are rolling.

That seems to be the way things are going, but you know.. I'm okay with that. TV series based on classic horror films have been having a far greater success rate than Theatrical remakes have been. If they can regularly deliver the chills, thrills, and humor of the Raimi films and develop a working mythology to continue it logically for several seasons then I say bring it on.

I so hope that this is true. It would be great, but until I see a commercial saying that it's coming soon then I will believe it.

on one hand, this could be cool

    on the other...

just let the classics rest, we all know that the same 'feel' they got working back then and the 'feel' we got out of it, is never going to come back, i'd rather they think of something new

the Evil Dead remake was unexpectedly nice to watch, but was it anywhere near the Original? no

and this series, how do you think it will turn out? will it be like the 3 movies but in smaller chunks? please, do not kid yourself, it will turn out to be a watered-down version that isn't satisfying. am not saying that it's going to suck, but it won't be worth the trouble

EDIT : apparently not the only series based on classic developed =>

I would die to see an Evil Dead series starring Bruce Campbell. But I'm not gonna believe it until my ass is plopped in front of the TV and it starts. Been burned too many times by Evil Dead news.

Army of Darkness 2 OR an Evil Dead TV show, would be great! ... I give the TV show more chance of happening though. Raimi could write and possibly direct the pilot, then executive produce. Wouldn't be surprised if Bruce took on directing duties.

I am not above giving it a chance, but I'm far from excited. Now, the "Scanners" TV show I can see because the basic plot line is easily extended but they are really going to have to get creative pulling "Evil Dead" out of the cabin setting yet still making it part of the series. Are they just going to follow the time travel plot line and be all over the place?

    Well HOLY SHIT :D

I wonder if they will make it a continuation of Army of Darkness, with Ash caught in the post-apocalyptic future?

Or he becomes a time traveller, kinda like an A-hole version of Doctor Who, chasing deadites across space and time :D

Kinda doubt he will be stuck in the cabin for 12-24 episodes ;)

Count me as a 'believe it when I see it' but I'm hoping for the best!

Bruce as the star? Whoa. I mean, I'd love it but outside of using him as a narrator or "Crypt Keeper"-type host, I'm not sure how that would work.

It should have nothing to do with the book of the dead. Just about Ash working at S-Mart. XD
