Looks as though it's coming out on DVD only in the UK in September.

Good thing I was going to import regardless.

For the first time since 1999, I was unable to get a badge for Comic-Con this year.

I decided to just wander around the area today, because there's always a ton of shit happening nearby that doesn't require a badge. Nerdist was doing small panels over at Petco Park nearby. I was way in the back at first, but slowly moved up. Took this picture of the Ash vs. Evil Dead group. Sorry Ted Raimi, I cut you off.

How does that work? I thought I read that for SDCC, previous year guests get first dibs to buy new tickets.

They do, and that's how I've been able to go for the last 16 years. But it's not a guarantee; they only block off a certain amount of badges for previous year's attendants. This was the first time I got shut out on that sale, so I tried the general sale and got snake eyes as well. Now I'm in that general sale group until I can manage to snag a badge. It might mean missing for a couple of years running till I can get lucky again.

Is there no scalping? Do they put names on the badges or something?

New York tried to eliminate scalping this year but failed miserably.

Yeah, names are on the badges, and you must provide ID to pick them up. There's still some scalping though. I'm not sure how they work around it. One alternative ways to get in is to know people who have a booth on the floor; every dealer booth includes a certain amount of badges. You might have to help them work the booth, or with set up/tear down, and if I'm unable to get a badge in future years, I might have to go that route. But after 16 straight years of going, it was nice to take a year off. My bank account appreciated it.
