A strong episode 8, and testament to the strong writing and strong characters development my wife got upset a little at the end of the episode, I gotta say I was gobsmacked myself. with 2 episodes left it will be interesting to see if they play out as is, or if there will be a twist.

I enjoyed episode 8 (didn't chime in at the time of air), but really had a blast with episode 9. The concept is great and leads us into what I'm sure will be an epic season finale. One of the best episodes of the season.

Oh man, episode 9 was fucking amazing!

Finally Ash mentioned the trip back in time, so I guess Army of Darkness is still part of the continuity.
Glad to see that the woods are alive again as well. Loved the look of the tree monster, even though a bit rubbery, when it came to the "tentacles" ;)

I never expected them to return to the cabin, but I'm glad they did :)

The trailer for the season finale, looked great as well!

Season 2 went out with a little bit of a whimper with tonight's finale. Things that have been teased from early episodes in the season still go unrevealed and the time travel shenanigans we could've gotten into are brushed aside. I felt like both season 1 and 2 picked up steam in their second halves, but where season 1 ended on a high note, 2 leaves us with one of the weaker episodes of the series.

Unsurprisingly, it was revealed via an excellent AV Club interview that the original plan for this episode was very different. You can read about the behind the scenes power play between producer Rob Tapert and former show runner Craig Digregorio here: http://www.avclub.com/article/craig-digregorio-leaving-ash-vs-evil-dead-and-orig-247262. I'm kind of torn as I agree with Tapert on the colon gag not feeling like Evil Dead (not my style of humor at all), but this finale was so jumbled and lazy that I can't blindly say he knows what's best for the series. Never mind the fact that I seem to be in the minority and most people love the colon scene. But no matter what, I hope whoever takes over in season 3 can quickly get things back on course for this very fun series.

I liked the action at the cabin, but the ending was disappointing, and I really don't know where they will go from here.
So I think the original idea would have worked better.

Except for that, I think this season was superior to the first, with funnier gags, effects and action, and overall better stories.
Though the finale was better in the first.

That was an interesting read, I have to say the colon scene was my favourite from the entire series, and I love the original idea for the series end, so I'm upset with the change in ranks, the end as is was, was the weakest episode, with what I felt were scenes/information missing, and a few head scratching 'how did that happen' moments. Not sure we're they can go with season 3, but if that last episode is anything to go by it will be disappointing.

All in all, finale aside this was a strong and enjoyable series. I'll start praying now for good things from series 3!

Didn't really care for the colon scene but I didn't mind it all that much, either. As for the last episode, it ended on a whimper but I still felt there were a lot of positives in it. Some great effects including a fair amount of practical ones at that. Thankfully the show has been a blast and it can likely survive a lackluster finale. Lets hope season 3 kicks ass.

That colon scene was crazy. I posted here or on the Horror.com forum about it. I'm surprised that the guy who's leaving had to fight so hard to get it in.

The different take on the last episode seems like a good idea too. Kelly did get a lot more attention during the season. I still think it's a great show. But it might have been even better with the original way they were going to do it.

i'm one of those people who doesn't watch series on TV or streaming, so last weekend i've bought season 1 of Ash Vs Evil Dead after hearing only positive things

i'm normally not a series watcher in general and mostly i take episodes slow and even stop watching midway, but with this, i can't wait to get to season 2! right now have watched 7 episodes and they are mostly all a blast, gory and with surprisingly fun side characters too

yep, this is right up my alley

    Sweet!

Isn't it about time we get the trailer for the new season?
Or maybe they unleash it on Comic-con?
