I didn't include the Alien Anthology but you can still vote for it in the "other" option.

It would be The Stepfather (1987) for me. The Evil Dead would be a very close second. Oh, and Troll 2 of course!

Great poll, moving to the main page.

Here's a bunch of others worthy of mention:

    Troll 2
    Maniac
    Hatchet
    Frozen
    Alien 2: On Earth
    Humanoids from the Deep
    Halloween II (2009)
    Survival of the Dead
    Se7en
    City of the Living Dead
    The Prowler
    Vampyres
    The Wolfman (2010)
    Dr. Giggles/Otis
    The Relic
    The Box
    Jennifer's Body
    My Bloody Valentine (1981)
    The Toolbox Murders
    New York Ripper

If we get a lot of "others" I can edit the poll to replace some of the lesser vote getters with these.

I voted for Grindhouse. It's great to finally have the theatrical double-feature version on disc. Runner-up would be King Kong, one of my all-time faves and an undisputed classic. The only reason it didn't win for me is that it was always a certainty to be released on the format, while we had no idea if / when Grindhouse would come out.

I had to go with Nightmare On Elm Street (1984). I was blown away by how good it looked on blu-ray.

Having grown up with the Media VHS, it was like seeing the film again for the first time.

Piranha or Humanoids From The Deep for me, Too many to choose from really. Some heavy hitters in The Exorcist, NOES and The Evil Dead as well.

I haven't snagged up Cronos of Videodrome yet, so can't comment on those, but from what I've seen, it's either the Alien Anthology or Spirits of the Dead from Arrow. Both of these preserve the films the way they should be, not much fucking around with what's already perfect. I also dug Arrow's/BU's City of the Living Dead.

And I'm only mentioning this since some people consider it horror (I don't), but the OVERALL Blu release of the year is Arrow's Battle Royale SE. The thing is the holy grail thus far of Blu special editions. It's insane.

Have to go with Psycho. This iconic suspense/horror looks stunning in Blu-ray. Other horror Blu-rays I picked up this year include Grindhouse, Humanoids from the Deep, My Bloody Valentine, The Relic, The House of the Devil and The Toolbox Murders, all of which look great.

had to go with Psycho, too. Hard to vote cause i've only bought a handful of these, and from what I've read, so many of those are fantastic releases. But psycho's one of my favorite films, from my favorite director, so to have it on blu ray was probably the disc of the year for me.

No contest, since it's the first Blu-Ray I purchased, even though I currently don't have a HDTV or Blu-Ray player yet, Evil Dead. In about 7 months I will be able to afford a nice HDTV, Blu-Ray player, and a nice Surround Sound system.

Return of the Living Dead - I'm thrilled that it's out on Blu-ray. Hopefully the first two sequels won't be far behind.

I voted for House although it was a tie between that and other for City of the Living Dead.
