Most seem to favour Phantasm, i thought it was a bit cheesy with its family angle, in the same way as Nightmare on Elm Street and also Poltergeist (worst of the family-bunch). Generally i really don't like movies with a kid in the lead.
But i did like it, the horror stuff in it was great.

I love all the Phantasm movies. I saw Phantasm at the Drive-In, but I voted for Bubba Ho-Tep. Because Bruce Campbell plays Elvis, and the commentary track of Bruce as Elvis is priceless.

Choosing my favorite Coscarelli film is tough - I love 'em all, abeit in different ways (though, haven't got my paws on JIM yet). I have to say that SURVIVAL QUEST is a hidden gem among his filmography. A fascinating look at peace Vs violence. Simplistic message, yes. But one well worth playing out in this film. Not on DVD S.E. yet, but the VHS can be picked up for cheap bones at Amazon.

I went with The Beastmaster, as that's the first Coscarelli film I ever saw. But then again, I've only seen that and Bubba Ho-Tep. Yes, I haven't seen Phantasm yet.

Phantasm. Beastmaser was a close second, but nothing tops the Tall Man. I can't wait to get my hands on the new sphere set.

Phantasm. It had a great impact on me as a kid, and I still enjoy it to this day.

  9. Same as 4Gotten1, scared the ever loving sh*t outta me when I was a wee age.

As for Phantasm IV....argh! I so wish it was a good sequal!

I had to go with Phantasm III. I wish they'd do a R1 release of that now.

Phantasm II, by far. And I'm positive that if it was available on a Region 1 DVD it would have received more votes.
Now bring on a Stuart Gordon poll. :fire:

I went with Phantasm 2, thought it was better than the original. Bubba Ho-Tep was a close 2nd but the nostalgic feel I get watching Phantasm 2 just edges Bubba out.
