With the bastardized version of THE EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING, taking the top spot at theatres this weekend, it is time to revisit the rest of the sequels to Friedkin's original classic. We all know THE EXORCIST is a masterpiece, but how about the sequels? Does one spin heads over the other? Which would you say is the best EXORCIST sequel?
The Exorcist III. The Beginning was utter garbage and I have not watched II in years for good reason.
Though Exorcist III cannot compare to the first, it has some very solid acting and great moments. I saw that in theaters, the day it opened, and everyone jumped at the infamous hospital scene, one that is embedded in my psyche forever.
exorcist III is by far the only true exorcist sequel part II shouldn't even be considered a sequel just another story and exorcist IV is not a sequel but a prequel
I voted for Exorcist 3. Now if we were talking which one had the best trailer I would vote for Exorcist 2. I just watched that trailer that is included on the original Exorcist dvd and I love it with it's music and everything.
Just a quick correction, the sequels all suck ASS. The original Exorcist is still the scariest thing ever committed to film.
Legion, but I also think Exorcist: The Beginning is worth seeing. Soon we'll also have Schrader's film to compare.
exorcist 3 was definetly the best of the sequels.Although none can compare to the ever evil original
Exorist III is a great, original movie. I think its biggest detraction is that it is called Exorcist III. They should have called it Legion. Its really its own, seperate film with a loose association to the original Exorcist. Its not modelled on the first one like the other sequels. But, of course, which would more people go see, a movie called Legion or a movie called Exorcist III?
