Poltergeist to me is like the ultimate Haunted House/Ghost movie, so that's where my vote went.

    Say What?
I thought I was the only one.
Turns out that one deals with demons. Trying to get the mods to fix it.

The demon is the main antagonist yeah, but the other entities are ghosts, the little boy that claps, the fat woman in the walls, etc.

It's a mix of demonic & ghost activity.

    That's what I'm saying!! I would've chosen that :D

    Sorry. Forgot all about it.
I didn't know that one was about ghosts.
EDIT: Ha! Just looked it up. It's about demons, not ghosts. No sale.

I think these polls are better served if we all accept that there is NO way all films can be included, so just pick your fave from the list.

Thanks for telling me. It's kind of like Poltergeist, like I was thinking, but I don't like movies about demonic possession, so. The main villain in Poltergeist is the 'Beast', a name commonly associated with the devil.

Danny sees the ghosts of the little girls and they don't possess him. Wendy also witnesses them. And in Poltergeist II, Mr. Freeling gets possessed ... by a demonic worm.

I voted for Poltergeist, another favourite from the 80’s. There are some great movies on the list but as posted in the thread earlier where is The Changeling? That would have been my pick. I saw that in the theatre when I was a kid…it has a special place in my heart (fond terrifying moments). :)

Ditto, with a close second for The Changeling.

    No Ghosts of Mars !!!!????

I chose The Haunting (need you ask which version?) from those listed. The Innocents would be my next choice.

How about the Entity? Isn't that a ghost story?

Aside from Legend of Hell House and The Changeling, both versions of The Woman in Black top my list of ghost films.

No. It never reveals what exactly "The Entity" is, if it was ever even human, where it came from, or why it's doing what it is.
