What's your favorite horror reference from The Simpsons "Treehouse of Horrror" series? I know I missed a bunch, there are way to many to mention so feel free to use other.

I voted for the Nighmare on Elm Street parody.

The Dawn of the Dead reference, where the elderly shoppers were zombie-shuffling up to the mall store doors. Politically-incorrect with a vengeance....but priceless, all the same!

    You killed the Zombie Flanders

    He was a Zombie?

I think that was how it went, anyway, classic stuff there.

In the episode where the Simpsons visit New York City, Homer refers to the Chuds. I thought that it was pretty hysterical to reference such a (relatively) obscure movie.

"...and that's when the CHUDs came for me." - Homer

"Of course it will seem bad if you only remember the pimps and CHUDS." - Marge

There have actually been several CHUD references on The Simpsons...including a quick shot of the sewer dwellers in one episode. :)

I always got a kick out of the one where I Spit On Your Grave is playing at the movie theater.

Yep, that's the one! Couldn't remember the exact lines so I didn't wish to dishonour Homer by misquoting him! :)

I'm watching the Talking Tina episode of Twilight Zone right now, and it reminded me of the parody with the Talking Krusty doll set to "evil"

My favorite was Poe's tell-tale heart, from the second Holloween special. I don't even think it was called a "Treehouse of Horror" yet, maybe season 2.

Actually, the first "Treehouse of Horror" premiered in the second season and featured a take on Poe's "The Raven". One of the classic TOH segments! :)

Good memory! And that episode was titled "The Tell-Tale Head", fittingly-enough.

Also, there was at least one more homage to "The Tell-Tale Heart" on The Simpsons involving Lisa's guilt over "her" diorama entry in a school competition.

Yeah, my mind must be going soft. Went looking for the episode guides, and find I am combining both the Lisa Diorama ("Lisa's Rival", from season 6) and the "Tell-Tale Head" from season one. Neither was a TOH.

    Maybe I need more RAM...

I loved the "Bad Dream House" segment in the first Halloween Special / Treehouse of Terror. But I think "The Shinning" was clearly the best.

"No tv and no beer make Homer... something, something..."
    "...Go crazy?"
    "Don't mind if I do!!!"

The Shining from TOH 5 that should have been the final TOH ever. Now the TOH is just plain corny as hell.

"The Shinning" was the best, and it was also the best Treehouse of Horror too. "Time and Punishment" and "Nightmare Cafeteria" were the other 2 parts.
Season 6 was the high point of The Simpsons, though they were still relatively funny through Season 9. Damn, that means for over half its existence the show has been lame. :(
