Is there any reason why Mirror Mirror is not on the list? Probably the movie that has the most excessive use of a mirror.

    Great poll!
Tough to choose though but I had to go with "Carrie".
That mirror scenes is just too cool.
Worth mentioning: The mirror scenes in "The Craft" and "Dressed To Kill".

Mirrors, huh? Anyone ever heard of a movie where you have to say a certain name 5 times into a mirror? I'd say that's a pretty significant mirror movie...

If I had the option to vote for it, I'd go with PRINCE OF DARKNESS, that scene nearly made me piss my pants. I voted for Evil Dead II

Voted for The Boogeyman, but... my personal favorite was definitely 1980's Prom Night. Which I've come to seriously appreciate a lot more over the years. When I first got the Echo Bridge DVD, I was very irritated by the film. Specifically, that damn "it must have been a sex maniac!" plotline. Uh... WHAT?! But, that aside, the rest of the film is quite amazing. It really is. I have so much respect for the characters, the writing, the dialogue, the character's relationships, the film's treatment of women- most of them are not stereotypes in the slightest.

Now... the film uses mirrors in a very vague / subtle way. The little girl, Robin, in the opening dies over a mirror (or, mirrored glass). Since that scene, mirrors and mirrored surfaces come back throughout the film usually in very lowkey scenes. Except for the girls' bathroom scene where we see a piece / pieces of the mirror have been removed / kept by the killer.

I love the idea of mirrors in horror and wish they had had greater relevance / thematic resonance in other films. But, typically, they're pretty ignored. Filmmakers don't use them as anything more than a prop for a death scene or a prop to be smashed just to have a little more chaos in a scene. Which is cool. But, again... I can handle a little more substance.
