I picked Drama, because it's so variegated. So are the other genres, of course, with myriad subgenres...but dramas are always so rewarding to watch for me. I'm thinking about films like The Elephant Man and other films with a lot of emotion.

I voted "Other" because my favorite type of film outside of horror is surrealistic/experimental.

Film Noir is the bomb! The Warner Bros. box set is the proof...and it's the tip of the iceberg.

Of course, porno is a close second.

Gimme decent sci-fi and fantasy movies alongside my horror DVDs and I'm doing okay.

Honourable mention to 70s era kung fu, spaghetti westerns, old WW2 movies and concert DVDs.

I was tempted to pick animation, because outside of my horror collection, I have more Disney DVDs than anything else. However, I went for Comedy from that list, as it encompasses other sub-genres I enjoy (musical comedy, animated comedy, horror comedy), and a comedy done well is as close to a perfect film as you are going to get.

Still, from that list, I would also rate Spaghetti Westerns and Sci-Fi-Fantasy in my Top 5, along with Horror, Comedy and Animation.

I picked Documentary. I like the best of the other genres, but am picky. I love a good documentary, though.

I went sci-fi, which I guess is the closest to horror. Not that I don't enjoy the others, but when in stores, I browse Horror first, and sci-fi second.

I'll say comedy. Then maybe action and then sci-fi.

well I wasn't sure whether this would fall under "other" or "animation" but I watch a lot of anime. i chose "other" because "animation" brings to mind more Disney than Japanime. at least it does to me.
...of course I do tend to prefer comedy and romantic anime....I'm confused.

  18. I picked Drama because there is always a fluctuation of emotions in this films and they always explore interesting topics. I thinking of films such as Findering Neverland, Monster, and Cold Moutain to name a few.
