With all the LoTR hype still going on - Which is your personal all time favorite Peter Jackson flick ever?
Dead Alive was the 1st Peter Jackson flick I had ever seen...after that movie I made it a mission to see his others! That film holds a place in my heart! Although The Frightners is all that too!
I thought Heavenly Creatures was a nicely made film, and left a pretty good impact when I first saw it. His other films are enjoyable sure, but I think his best work was in HC. As for LOTR, I think it is the most overhyped, heartless POS released this year, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed Harry Potter!
My favorite use to be 'Dead Alive' but after seeing 'Bad Taste', that is my favorite. I don't know why I like 'Bad Taste' better, but its propably because the great soundtrack (I'll be humming the attack music used after the rocket laucher attack on the house for days after watching it) Dead Alive is my second favorite and LotR is a very close Third
It was either Lord of the Rings or Forgotten Silver, but Lord of the Rings is brilliant, fucking brilliant! As is Forgotten Silver, but I'm a silent era junkie, so that may just be me... But still, LotR is brilliant, fuckin brutiful!
Bad Taste, definitely. I don't watch it very frequently but every time I do, it's like being transported to another world. I've heard people describe New Zealand this way. (Typically as an insult.) But Jackson really does give the film a fun feel for having what could be described as a downbeat tone, and being set on mostly overcast / cloudy days.
What? No pudding?!?!?!?! I haven't had a good custard in years!!!! Dead Alive, not even close for me. To this day it's the only film I've shown a friend that made him throw up. He literally yacked on my living room floor. It was worth it.
