In a way every horror film is religious in that they deal with Biblical concerns like temptation, resurrection (there goes Michael again!) and faith. Yet there's an even more specific set of horror that confronts religious devotion head on. THE EXORCIST is the most famous, but there are tons. This list is by no means conclusive - there's room for plenty of others, but I've tried to make it as good of a sample of the types of religious flicks out there. What's your favorite?

    I chose other.

Evilspeak. Sure it's a Carrie rip-off, but it is fun and when the deaths happen the grue isn't spared. I can watch it more than any on the list.

Frailty, although The Wicker Man (1973) is not far behind.

I have to go with Other: Frailty myself as well. The Exorcist would be my second favorite.

If we are going with most FUN though, I would have to cast my vote for Evilspeak or The Wicker Man remake.

The Wicker Man (1973) for me. Rosemary's Baby is very close.

The Exorcist is probably my favorite film. Deadly Blessing is an underrated gem despite a disapointing climax, it needs a region 1 dvd release.

That's one of my most wanted releases.

I have to go with the obvious vote, THE EXORCIST, just because the movie's story centers on religion and the idea of belief.

Rosemary's Baby, I think. I zaw The reaping recently, and think it's quite good - but it's too new to a "best" - let time put a layer of dust on it first.

Exocist is obviously the best but I almost went for other and picked The Prophecy with Chris Walken.

I went with Rosemary's Baby. Something about Mia Farrow always kinda creeps me out, and i think its because of this film.

The religious aspect to Rosemary's Baby fascinates me, moreso than the rest. "Year One!" is a chant that sticks with me, and that satanic sex scene is shocking.

    Frailty
is also good stuff, and of course, The Exorcist is one of my favorite horror films. Wicker Man has a great religion! "Come, say 'How-do...'"

I'll add that the religious twist in Dracula 2000 made a so-so film into a so-so film with a really cool idea for me.

Tough call. Can't really decide between THE EXORCIST and ROSEMARY'S BABY. I voted for the latter, just because I've watched it more often and it doesn't get mentioned quite as often. Truly creepy film.

Totally forgot about ROSEMARY'S BABY....I agree, hard to pick between it and THE EXORCIST. There's a lot going on in both movies beyond just scaring the audience, but both of them do a pretty good job of that too.

I went with Rosemary's Baby but it was a tough choice between that and The Wicker Man.

Whoops on FRAILTY, that needs to be on for sure. I'll add THE PROPHECY, EVILSPEAK and PRINCE OF DARKNESS too.
