Stan did some serious damage to the genre before sadly passing before his time last month. Which one of these projects that he contributed the effects for is your favorite?

A very difficult choice, but I hold The Terminator near and dear to my heart, and it's one of only a handful of films I could watch once a week and never get sick of.

What an incredible body of work he had. Just amazingly talented.

For me though, Aliens is the clear winner. There are precious few movies that I like better than that one.

    Man, look at that list!

The Monster Squad is a no-brainer for me, as Winston did an incredible job of capturing the character of those classic villains, and he seemed like the perfect choice to do the capturing.

I am a big fan of many of these films, however. But, I've never seen Dracula's Dog--how is it?

Dead & Buried. Aliens was a close second.

I had to give it to THE THING. I remember the visceral effect that movie had on me.

Predator is my follow up vote.

Can't choose, too many great and loved creations.
I would go The Thing as it's a favorite movie, but Aliens and both Predators, not to mention Terminator and Pumpkinhead? Even Wrong Turn had some awesome gags. Can't do it, Stan fucking ruled.

Well, Stan Winston's team only did the dog in the kennel in The Thing, and I think a lot of that was based on Rob Bottin's design. Really, that's a Rob Bottin movie.

As much as I love Aliens, Giger's design of the aliens was better and James Cameron designed the Queen himself. I love Predator, but I don't think anything can touch Terminator 2 in my mind. I think it's one of the most perfect Hollywood films of all time and probably the one film I've watched more than any other.

Yeah, Bottin is the man behind the Thing...

    So I voted for Terminator.

I would have voted for Gargoyles (1972) if it had been included. I really love 70's made for TV horror films and this is the one I've revisited the most over the years. From this list, I can't really decide between Predator, Aliens, and The Terminator.

Yup, that would be my vote too. That was my favorite movie when I was a kid. I need to check out the DVD again one of these days.

I realized THE THING was Bottin's baby, but it is such a seminal film in the history of visual effects, I figured it had to be included here regardless of Stan's contributions. Plus, that kennel scene is totally awesome.

It's really amazing, He co-created Predator, Terminator, and The Alien Queen!

I also thought that Pumpkinhead looked awesome , even if the films themselves were pretty crappy, besides the 1st one which was actually good.
