I voted for Friday the 13th Part 2, but Toxic Avenger 2 (uncut) also had a great wheelchair scene.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre for me, although the kill in Friday the 13th admittedly was brutal as hell!

Without a doubt, "TCM." The first film that came to mind for me though was "Psycho." But there are no wheelchairs in the film, unless Ma is sitting on one in the basement when she turns around... I'll have to check.

    A good creative poll!

Kick ass poll. I voted for the Changeling because the use of the wheelchair in this one was pretty scary. This movie also gets my vote for best ball rolling down the stairs scene.

Of those listed, I'd also take TCM. Poor Franklin. If he had much more fun, he just wouldn't be able to stand it....

But my favorite wheelchair horror flick is "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane." Joan Crawford is just so CONFINED in that chair. And it's great when she "paces" the room in sheer frustration. A great film.

  12. I was going to add Whatever Happened to Baby Jane to my list but ran out of room.

  13. I voted for The Changeling, because it's wicked - but there's a cracking wheelchair scene in Manhunter, and don't forget about the wheelchair gore in Nightmare Concert!

    I voted F13 part 2

It's definitely the most tasteless use of a wheelchair in a horror flick, so I guess that makes it the most memorable for me.

As soon as I read the title of the thread I thought of that wheelchair death in Friday the 13th, Part II, so it gets my vote. That scene was just brutal! :eek1:

I wanted to go with F13th part 2, but I just love it when Franklin's crippled ass gets torn up by Leatherface.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is obviously the best movie... but I think if this poll were re-taken today, Friday the 13th Part 2 would have to take the crown. Since the wheelchair factors most brilliantly into the set-piece of the death scene itself.

Also, honorable mention to Witchery- which used the wheelchair-bound young girl as the only concerned witness to the island of stranded people dying, trying to get help, and being treated discriminately because of her handicap. I mean, if they have to write a gimmick into a script at all, why not this one? It's not a bad idea.

Monkey Shines also deserves a tiny scrap of praise for the use of the handicap during a sex scene. And because Jason Beghe is hot as HELL.
