$30.00 is too much for a bootleg IMO. If it went down to $15.00 I might be more tempted. I seriously doubt it will ever go down.

I bought Uradouche's copy, and it's not all that great. I was underwhelmed, especially after reading Rhett's positive review.

I'm holding on to it, 'cause who knows if and when an official release will come out. When it does, this one's going straight into the trash though.

    OUCH!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be passing on this for now. I'm sure it eventually will get a release in about/another 2 decades.

It comes with an oversize box right? At the very least it's worth keeping around for that.

Or are these new prints in regular cases?

The first edition in the oversized box was limited to 1000 copies. Retro has just released a new edition with the same coverart. It is still the same kind of "hardbox" but this time the box has the size of a regular Amaray case.

I think Rhett's review was dead on and who know when a better release will ever come.

Do you purposely write statements that I will half agree with, and half vehemently disagree with?

No, I'm with you about the "who knows when a better release will come out" part. This ain't Star Wars, where they'll sell a million copies within the first hour. In fact, delaying Four Flies is the best way of getting people interested in this (let's face it) lukewarm Giallo. You're not looking at a huge seller no matter what.

But I think Rhett's review was more glowing of the video quality than what I saw. I'm in the "well, it's better than NOTHING, but not by much" camp.

If Paramount still controls it, maybe Legend Films can put it out?

What do you peeps mean by NEW BATCH? Is the film is being release in some second version? Will it just be new packaging or a new print?

    Thoughts, info..........?

I have a VHS copy of a Japanese laserdisc. It'll do me till the official Paramount DVD comes... IF it ever comes.

Chainsaw Video describes their latest version of Four Flies as "small box," since the first release came in an oversized box this must be a new round of discs. Don't know if it means they're mini-hard boxes like N.E.W. also uses.

Wow, big news. Ryko is the real deal. Saying it's about time would be redundant, though, so dancing banana time.
